The Sixers will get additional depth for their training camp roster with the signings of forward Antywane Robinson and center Jared Reiner, who has two years of experience in the NBA under his belt.

If this is accurate, then:
Miller — Lou — Ivey
Iggy — Rush — WG
Thad — Donyell — A. Robinson
E.Brand — Speights — Evans
Sam — Theo — Reiner
That makes 15.... balanced, to be sure.... Lots of looks for Mo to work with...... Guess this means no Jamont Gordon..... liked him..... oh well...... Eddie Stefanski is a genius IMO.... I'm ecstatic.... Remember what we've been dealing with for the last 22 years....... This is a a godsend. Stefanski's first full year. Wow. What a difference a legit GM makes.

I haven't heard that the team asked for and received an injury exemption for Jason Smith, if not he will be taking up a roster spot on the inactive list the entire year, IIRC. Hence there is only one roster spot open at this time. They added three guys to the training camp roster, but that does not mean they didn't already extend the same invitation to Jamont Gordon or others from our summer league team. A couple of the guys added today are local guys that are very unlikely to make the team. Of all of the guys that have been announced for training camp and/or played on the summer league team I think Jamont Gordon looks like the best bet to make the team.

Exactly.... there is only ONE spot left on this squad and as SF76 reported in another thread, it's unlikely any of the three names recently mentioned will be making the final roster. Hell, there's really no reason at all to add a player. Right now, this franchise is attracting a lot of guys for the minimum. Let's say an older vet gets cut during the season ala Sam Cassell, wouldn't it be nice to have the open roster spot available for that player? I see no need to to add a player who isn't going to contribute in any way just so that you can have a full roster.

Sam Cassell was washed up. Arguably, all he did was take away time from Eddie House.

I would argue that a washed up Sam Cassell is better to have for a playoff push than any of the names mentioned above.

It would not be a bad idea to sign a rookie FA to a non-guaranteed contract if someone impresses in camp. Non-guaranteed contracts become fully guaranteed on January 10 so you can cut a non-guaranteed player any time before that and not be stuck with the salary for the rest of the season if we need the roster spot. IIRC the old guarantee date was in late December, just before Christmas, but was moved to January 10 because of the bad PR associated with cutting guys right before the holiday.

If somebody impresses than sure. I'm not saying you cut all of these guys no matter what happens. What I am saying is that if these guys look like what we expect them to be than I see no reason to keep them for the sole purpose of having a 15th body.

I could see an outside chance of a non-guaranteed contract, but this is standard procedure, I highly doubt any of these local training camp bodies are still here for the start of the season.

i wonder what the price is for Shaun Livingston....
i think it could be the perfect situation for him...sit back and continue to recover while practicing n working out with a perfect mentor in Dre Miller....who knows, maybe we could get lucky and he could sta healthy and really catch on and become the future PG when Dre leaves

I'm all for it. Not to mention, he's a big PG and can play with Lou off the bench. Not much to lose by giving him a shot.

Also agree with the above.
