according to hoopshype he will sign soon. He played on year in the NBA with Memphis and last year in the Belgium league he averaged 24 ppg.
How many more Andres can we possibly get?

The in-team dunk contests should be good anyway.

A training camp body. 25 year old Texas Tech SG - slasher and dunker as opposed to shooter or shut down defender. Shocked if he makes the team. Good to have training camp bodies though. Hoping they bring in a SF in as well. Was hoping they would sign Newble to a one year, minimum deal. He's still a good perimiter defender and a solid locker room guy.

They must not have been that impressed with Jamont Gordon in the SL to bring in another guy to replace him, who also can't shoot from the perimeter. So much for that hype about being a guy that should have been taken in the middle of the 2nd round.

Think we should still talk to Livingston since Portland is not going to sign him....

Guys, Jamont Gordan sucks HARD. There was no way he was going to make this basketball team. His PG skills were poor, even for summer league. His offensive game was undeveloped. He was just average defensively. In short he was a far worse Willie Green! He was never going to make the team. Junior Harrington on the other hand is like a lesser Louis Williams and I would've given him an invite.
If Geiger's report is accurate(and he averaged 24 PPG in the Belgium league, take it for what it's worth). He could be more then a training camp body Geiger. An extra punch of the bench wins close games. And while we have Louis Williams, Willie Green and Kareem Rush. Ivey isn't that 4th scorer and maybe Marshall isn't at this point. But Barrett can have that sudden impact. To have guys like Williams, Green, Rush and Barrett coming off your bench means scoring and good perimeter play. Ed has done a tremendous job.

Belgian league is probably equivalent of a decent Division III conference.

Along with Emmet, we added Justin Reed, Jared Reiner, Maureece Rice, and Antywane Robinson to our training camp roster.
http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs ... 002/SPORTSIf I remember correctly, Reed had a few half decent games back in Minnesota and Boston. I recall him being extremely fast... Still probably won't make the cut..

I seem to remember Robinson being a pretty good shooter in Temple. So I think he and Emmett make the team.

There are a lot of college players who could shoot. It doesn't mean they are NBA caliber players. We already have 14 roster spots taken anyway. There may be a possibility we get permission from the league to add an extra roster spot due to Smith's injury, but I'm not sure that happens and neither Emmett or Robinson are making the team over the following:
Miller, Iguodala, Young, Brand, Dalembert, Williams, Evans, Green, Rush, Ivey, Ratliff, Marshall, Speights, Smith.
Maybe one training camp body makes the roster, but definitely not two.

I disagree, I think that Donyell Marshall may be on his last legs and if these young kids show something, they'll squeeze in there.

We just signed Marshall for the vet minimum... guaranteed contract for the year. You think we're going to waive him for the likes of Antywane Robinson or Andre Emmett?

Can't see Ed adding another player unless he gets an injury exception for Jason Smith. The additional spot allows him to make a two for one trade later in the season or to fill in a position if anyone gets hurt. He needs that insurance because I'm not sure the team has enough at center. If Dalembert gets injured, Theo is too old to fill in as a starting center. They have Speights & Brand but I'm not sure if either one can legitimately play in the middle.

On another note, Derrick Byars has joined the Thunder's training camp roster.
