The only thing is we're not eligible for the cash prizes, which is fine. He's looking at getting us trophies though.
For those of you familiar with sportingnews' fantasy bball game, this is an expanded version of their regular game, so instead of 6 players per team, its 10, and your salary cap is much larger... For people who are new to the game, theres a usefull rules section on the site, which will tell you how the scoring works, as well as answer any other questions you might have.
The scoring system is a little different from roto, and actually makes more sense. I've played custom leagues on yahoo for the past 4 years using the sportingnews scoring system, so IMO it won't be hard to grasp or appreciate.
All in all, this is a great chance for all the board members to be involved. The sportingnews employee has set the league limit in the hundreds. So if we're quick enough, I beleive everyone on this board should get to play, which would be pretty cool
But just so you know, I would like to emphasize, please keep your team name as the same name you use on Realgm, so we all know who's who...Otherwise, its going to be incredibly confusing, and IMO, no fun at all...
Anyways, here are the details. You have to have an account with sportingnews, so if you dont, go to the site, and create one before you click on the link. Its free, and can be accessed at: http://www.sportingnews.com
Here are the instructions from the employee on how to join...

Here is a link to the free Ultimate league. I've invited people on the Knicks board as well because that's my immediate community here.

Feel free to pass this along to any message board as I've hacked the team limit to be in the hundreds. May decrease load time on the main page and standings pages if we fill it but should make for a better league.
I didn't get to look into the trophies because of my crazy hockey schedule. I'll def look int to it on Monday.
I've set up a Ultimate Salary Cap Hoops game at the request of a few people here who played last year and enjoyed it. Normally the product is about $20 but because I work there and love the RealGM Community I've set up a free league (no league prizes).
Sign up if your interested but this game is very time intensive so please no dead teams (you will take someone's spot who's interested in it and cause everyone else load time).
As always, I'm an open book to criticism about game play here. If you'd like a primer on how price updates work and some tips, please respond and I'll give some direction.
Best,
Chris
