Game Time: 7:00PM EST
TV: CSNHD
Radio: N/A
Pre-Season Games Remaining: 2 (They also play NJN on 10/22)
Records76ers: 3-2 (Lost 1)
Cavs: 1-4 (Won 1)
Previous MeetingsOct. 18th @ CLE: Cavs 100, 76ers 93
Probable Starters

We lost to the Cavs on Saturday without Brand (Personal Reasons) and Dalembert (Right Knee Contusion) so if both of those guys are out for this one, then I suspect we will see a similar result. If they are back or if Brand is back, then I think we will win this game hence...
My Prediction: 76ers by 5+

Let's get this preseason over and get to the point! I finally got League Pass this year, so I'm actually going to see more than 6 or 7 games this season. Can't wait for the regular season to start.
As for this game, let's just hope for no injuries.
BTW: Nice to see the game threads back, TGP.

I've more or less been on vacation mode from the baord for the past month since there's been little to no news and I haven't watched a game yet. Well, with CSN FINALLY airing a game, it's time to pack the summer clothes away, pull out the old game threads and get back to talking hoops. I knowmost of the other mods have been on vay-cay as well.
By the way, I will never, NEVER get tired of seeing this photo of Ben Wallace.

Also... since the game threads have sort of always served as "around the league" threads as well... I'm glad to see that the Clippers already have Baron Davis as *possibly* being out for 4-6 weeks due to injury and Marcus Camby has also apparently decided to take the rest of the pre-season off to heal up.
I wonder if Elgin Baylor was fired for taking on big contracts/money by Sterling. His firing definitely had CRAZY timing.

I've been working on some possible game thread graphics. I have a big deadline on wednesday and then I will finish them up and post several options.

Its about time we get to see a game. Hopefully, Brand is back in there, he missed the last game because of the birth of his child.

Oh how great it will be to hear the sweet, soothing sounds of Bob Salmi's voice. Despite my intense excitement to watch this team play, I should be asleep by 7:25 thanks to Bobby.

I would be perfectly happy even if we lose this game and would prefer to see Iggy, Miller, Brand and Dalembert play limited minutes, if at all.
Would like to see Williams start at PG and play exclusively at PG for about 30 minutes, would like to see Ivey run the point with Williams at SG some, would like to see Rush playing some SG and some SF, want to see Speights playing about 35 minutes while splitting time at both PF and C, want to see Donyell Marshall get some more meaningful playing time.
Play the starters in the first quarter and let the rest of the guys get major minutes. The only starter I want to see getting over 15 minutes is Thad Young.

I'm pretty sure its genetically impossible for Mo Cheeks to play Iggy less than 25 mpg in any scenario... reg season, preaseason, charity events, playground pickup, etc.

What's the deal with Dalembert? I haven't read anything that talked about his injury being serious.
Also, I see no reason why Brand wouldn't play in this game.

I'm for this as well. I'd rather not see any starters playing past the 1st quarter (except maybe Thad). Good point about seeing Lou and Ivey play together as I'm sure a big reason why we brought Ivey in is to have a taller backup pg that can cross with Lou. Also a good time to get extended looks at Rush, Speights, Marshall, and Ratliff.

Brand is starting. According to the Daily News article. He is to report to practice today, so I'm sure he'll be starting.
Oh and Theo is done. He is as old as Ben and Big Z. and he looked two or three times as worse. I'm really hoping Speights develops good enough to be the main backup 5.

I'll update the starting lineups to show Brand in there. As for the comment about age, Theo is a year and a half older than Wallace and two and half years older than Z. I get what you're saying but he's an old 35 considering the amount of injuries that he's had.

According to Philly Burbs, Dalembert is likely to miss tonight's game due to a combination of his knee injury and the flu.
Also found interesting that after Robinson was released, Cheeks was asked about Jared Reiner and while he didn't say Reiner would make the team he did say that "this team could use a Jared Reiner."
With Dalembert's injury and Ratliff's age, maybe Reiner gets one of those partially guaranteed contracts, where it becomes a fully guaranteed deal if he's still on the roster by a certain point in December.

The only playing time I saw from Reiner came from garbage minutes at the end of one of our preseason games. To his credit, he did knock down a couple 20+ footers and seemed to have a nice stroke for a big man, but the sample size was far too small to get any kind of read on him.
Posted this in another thread... a little off topic, but what the hell.
Not sure if any of you watch NBATV, but they had their fantasy previews on guards and forwards and did the season preview for the Sixers. All done by Rick Kamla, Steve Smith, and Eric Snow.
For some reason, Lou Williams wasn't mentioned as a potential fantasy sleeper, but guys like Jameer Nelson and Luke Ridnour were. Nothing against those two, but I see Lou having more of a breakout season any of the candidates they mentioned.
Iguodala was rated the #6 overall fantasy guard. I think Rick Kamla had him higher than Baron Davis.... can't say I agree with that. Also, Tayshaun Prince came out and called Dre an up and coming player and star. Found that surprising coming from the guy that pretty much silenced Iguodala in the playoffs. Tayshaun also complimented our team and our staff.
Thad Young was listed as a potential sleeper. Eric Snow expects to see his numbers improve across the board... noting that as long as the minutes are there the production will be there and said he could see him putting up 13ppg and around 1.6 steals per game.
Steve Smith and Rick Kamla see us ending up around 4th in the East and 2nd in the Division.
Nothing earth shattering, but the tone in which everyone was breaking us down seemed pretty optimistic. You get a sense that we are being viewed as an elite team in the conference.

http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/ ... 08447.htmlDid anyone see the last game vs. Cleveland? Mo Williams and Andre Miller seem to have gotten into a pretty heated debate. Miller threw the ball at Williams after an offensive foul? Williams and Miller both received t's after jawing at each other after the play. Then Williams got ejected for saying something to the official after being called for another foul shortly after. Williams claims that the two had run-ins back when Mo was with the Bucks and was quoted saying, "Miller picked the wrong guy for that. I came here to play basketball. If you don't want to play basketball, then let me know." Quite a saga.

^^Yeah I heard about that well. Im pretty sure the game wasn't on TV anywhere so I dont think anyone seen it (unless you were at the game.)
Im a Cavs fan and a fan of Andre Miller as well ever since he played for the Cavs back in the day. Despite getting up there in age he's still one of the more underrated PG's in the league imo.
But I couldn't picture him acting like a poor sport like that. He always seemed very calm, layed-back, and classy.
Anyways, Im looking forward to the Mo vs Miller match-up today. I think both players will play this game like its a playoff game. Should be fun to watch!

Hopefully CSN will have some video of this tonight (if they are still showing the game). Aside from the program guide saying that they are airing the game... I've seen little to nothing on TV promoting this.

Jasner in the Daily news wrote about it:
But give Miller this much: At least he did it in the preseason, and he recouped nicely, following a foolish mistake with a wily veteran move that led to Saturday night's first-quarter ejection of the Cleveland Cavaliers' Mo Williams.
Implying Miller new how to pull Williams strings. More detail in the article:
http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/six ... _play.htmlThe few games I've seen Williams play he has a big chip on his shoulder- which is sometimes the way players keep themselves motivated. Miller is a bit of a silent trash talker, but I'd think this is more an issue of Williams and his lack of self control.
Not a big deal either way.
