Newcastle United's announcement in it's entirety. Notice how it neglects Isak helping the Magpies win their first domestic trophy in 56 years.

Newcastle United can announce the sale of striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool for a significant British record transfer fee.

The Sweden international joined the Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022 and made 109 appearances in all competitions.

Favourite signings of the window:

Kevin to Fulham
Everton (all)
Harvey Elliott to Aston Villa
Dango Ouattara to Brentford
Palace (all)
Xavi Simons to Tottenham
Mosquera to Arsenal
Diakite to Bournemouth
Bakwa to Forest

Woltemade & Wissa to Newcastle was also much needed, even if I don't love the prices. Eddie Howe will be dancing in the streets to add those goals up front considering the rest of their squad has a high enough floor.

Should be some interesting conversations behind close doors with Emi Martinez. looks like he was strung along by ManU so they could get the Lammens deal done, but he didn't do himself any favours with Villa

From the outside and seeing some player comments (Mings/McGinn etc), it doesn't look like he's handled himself very well over the last few weeks. Surely he has to come out and speak to re-engage with the fan base and seek forgiveness...unless of coarse he goes to Saudi (which I think would be extremely unlikely).

Happy with Sancho (still can turn things around - and we need help on the left), and VERY happy with Elliott.

Lindelof is solid on a free, and a depth option. Not ideal, but okay

Don't know what we have to do to get some improvement at the RB spot....6 years later and Cash is still our starting RB. I don't think he's terrible, just think we can improve there.
Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team

Things may be getting spicy.

Besiktas made an offer for Trossard today. With Havertz and Saka hurt already and the transfer window in England closed, I can't see us accepting the offer.

Not sure I agree with this approach.

Paul Joyce, who is very reliable when it comes to Liverpool news, has wrote:

Liverpool will not revisit their interest in Marc Guéhi in January and will only now sign the Crystal Palace centre back on a free transfer next summer.

A £35million move to Anfield for the England defender collapsed on deadline day when Palace chairman, Steve Parish, pulled the plug on the deal at the eleventh hour after failing to secure a replacement.

Guéhi, 25, had completed a medical and was left angry at the development having informed Palace of his desire to join the Premier League champions.

He will have to wait until next summer in order to do so now with Liverpool adamant they will not dip into the market in January for a player who has entered the final year of his contract and will not sign an extension.

Christian Eriksen to Wolfsburg.

I am sure he will be getting good money for playing in front of no fans.
