Croatia are confirmed group winners so will take on Turkey in Vienna on 20 June. However, Germany, Austria and Poland all have chances of earning a Basel tie against Portugal the night before. Germany, two points ahead of their rivals, need only draw with co-hosts Austria in Vienna as then Poland could not catch them on head-to-head record even if they beat Croatia in Klagenfurt. If Austria win they would go through, unless Poland defeat Croatia by a bigger margin to overtake the co-hosts' currently superior goal difference (1-2 to 1-3).

If Austria and Poland finish level in second position on points, goal difference and goals scored, they will be split on qualifying coefficients (points per game) from the 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA EURO 2008™, and Poland are superior 2.167-1.500 (only Austria's World Cup results count as they did not have to qualify for this tournament).

Normally I'd root for the underdog but a Germany-Portugal game will be sweet

Now that the US Open is on ESPN, are they not showing the AUS-GER game? Tape-delaying it? Moving it to ESPN 2?

Anybody know?

Games are usually on ESPN 2 and Classic. i doubt they would tape delay Germany s game.

Yeah, but today's game was supposed to be on regular ESPN. But that was before the US Open's playoff got put on ESPN (it just started). So they either need to move the game to ESPN2 (but they're supposed to be showing the college world series over there), or show the start on Classic and then send it to ESPN when the US Open is over.

I went to ESPN's website and even they didn't update their TV listings...they're probably hoping the golf is over by the start of the match.

It's gonna be on ESPN 2 at 2:30 eastern, they just ran a commercial for it.

Just came back from public viewing. Poor performance by GER, but luckily AUT was not good enough to take advantage. We have a lot of work to do: Metzelder is still very shaky in the middle, Ballack is still not in Chelsea form yet (though the goal was superb), Fritz and Frings are utterly crap in passing ATM and Klose and ESPECIALLY Gomez (MEGA-LOL at that one chance where he did not hit the open goal from 1 yard) are totally not in it.

If we play one more time like this, Portugal will flatten us. But I trust that our famous "Kampfgeist" will awaken and bring us to the Finals.  :D

Gomez must have some incriminating photos of Löw or something. I can't think of any other explanation.

Well, since the group has been decided, please keep any future discussions in the stickied Euro thread.
