Actually, i think Russia have very talented team but they are way too young and dont have a finisher up front. They are getting Arshavin up front and that should help. But, i think Sweden has enough to get a draw and go through.

well sweden gave spain a tough time, i think if ibrahimovic would have stayed in the result could have been different.

sweden's fate could also depend on how healthy he would be for the game vs. russia.

and spain could get into trouble if villa and torres don't get along, i think there could be a moment when both would want to make the goals. let's see how aragonés handles his team and his stars.

even though I guess and hope Sweden will advance I don't think it will make such a big difference b/c the team they'll be facing if they advance is Holland and no way in hell Sweden will beat them the way the dutch NT is currently playing. they'll having a field day vs the swedish defense.

They may be small in number, but this tournament will no doubt miss our fans.

Dellas ends up making two bad mistakes but he was overall solid.
Superb matches from Spyropoulos, Vyntra and Kyrgiakos. Antzas was shaky but held up as a sub.
Kara and Chari were godly.

Amanatidis misses his chances.
Basinas was too slow today, but better than the waste of space that is Katsouranis.
Salpi again can't contribute for the NT.

Just came back from SWE-RUS public viewing. SWE got their a***s handed over to them, lucky they did not get obliterated with 5-0 or worse.

PS never saw so many hot babes in a soccer match before. Sweden and Russia sure have some gorgeous female fans

Yup. Swedes definitely disappointed tonight. Russia's frontline was impressive though, they can definitely play. Should be a fun quarter final.

Russia definitely deserved to go through, they dominated their last two games and put a good performance against Spain until game got out of hand. I dont think this was the result Dutch were looking for as instead of playing against old washed up Swedish team with a mediocre coach, they ll be playing against young ambitious Russian team with a great coach. Talent gap might be too much for Ruski to overcome but with Hiddink you never know.

On the other game Greece proved that they are the worst champions in european history by finishing with 0 points and 1 goal against 3 mediocre teams(re:Spanish B team).

i ll take 3rd place in World Cup, UEFA cup and European Super Cup along with couple quarter finals appearances and 4-1 away demolition of Greeks over one fluke trophy.

Hmm.. so now that the group stages are over and this has already been the best int'l tournament in recent memory to me. Hope it gets even better from now on.
