Re: Summer Transfers & Rumors Discussion
lol, robinho to manchester city, i wonder if chelsea would make a run at him during the winter transfers.
and nery castillo is paying his idiotic way of being. during last summer he thought he was kaka or something like that and refused several good offers (one from juventus) and other italian or spanish teams and he went to shaktar donesc because of the money.
there he didn't play because the coach found out he didn't passed the ball and only dribbled, he fought with lucarelli in a game for a PK and then he missed it. then he went to manCity and didn't get too much playing time and then got injured. now he's stuck in the bench.

Re: Summer Transfers & Rumors Discussion
^I hope not, I really don't think Robinho would do well in the PL, besides he's not a goalscorer and that's what City needed, they don't need another Elano, especially a £32.75 mil one.

Everton payed €16m for Marouane Fellaini from Standard Liege (Belgium). Those who saw Standard play against Liverpool for the Champions League qualifiers should know him.
It has been a crazy deadline/night.

^^Agree with you completely. I just haven't followed any transfer deadline as much as I've done this one. I was literally sitting in front of my laptop and hitting F5 on my browser with the drama unfolding every second.
City's new found wealth had just made it all the more crazier. At least they were able to get out of that disaster of Thaksin Shinawatra and then they fall into the rich hands of Abu Dhabi Inc! Have admit though that the Arabs would demand instant gratification for all their money and Mark Hughes is certainly going to be the manager under the most pressure alongside Scolari for next season.

Re: Summer Transfers & Rumors Discussion
It was Berbatov to Utd for 30.75 mil and sent Frazier Cambell on a season long loan - which is actually really beneficial for Utd, he shows promise, like he did at Hull, but this year gets to do it in a half decent EPL team, then Utd prob will snaffle him back at the end of the season.
Was chatting to a few Chelsea fans last night, mixed review and feelings on Robinho, some were glad they didnt fork out 30 mil for him, personally I didnt feel he was any where near worth that - but a good few were infuriated due to their lack of goal scorers up front outside the tempramental Drogbah.
Though for me, excellent moves by Utd, shifted dead weight in Saha and Sivestre [a few days ago] and even for that money, Berbatov was a sorely needed addition.

Re: Summer Transfers & Rumors Discussion
i think berbatov adds more power to ManUs offense, but what about their defense? they aren't that deep with all the games they are going to play.

Well the standard back 4 are the strongest in the EPL, and probably Europe. Neville back gives a nice dilema at right back, and Brown is a excellent starter in either right back or either center back slots. On top of that O'Shea and Hargreaves are both more than capable of filling in at the back when required. I imagine like a couple of years ago Utd will pick up another defender in the January window though.

Re: Summer Transfers & Rumors Discussion
Well our defense though not very experienced outside the starting 4 is still one of the deepest in the league imo. Other than the starting 4 of Brown/Ferdinand/Vidic/Evra we have Gary Neville, Rafael Silva, who should be a starter by next season and one of the most talented attacking right backs in football, Fabio Silva a leftback, Rafael's twin brother and then Jonny Evans, John O'shea who can play right back or left back and finally Owen Hargreaves who played crucial games in the UCL at right back for us.

Re: Summer Transfers & Rumors Discussion
crazy deadline. both Utd and City overpaid but that is expected near deadlines. at least they didnt get duped like inter (lol @40 assists).
i am reading that this is only a tip of the iceberg for the City, they are getting ready for Abramovich-like revolution except their total wealth is 10x of Abramovich. they are expected to make 150 million pound offer for Ronalda and has a budget of 400 million pounds next season for players like fabregas, torres and kaka. definitely something to watch for next couple of seasons.

Re: Summer Transfers & Rumors Discussion
400 mil pounds! Thats crazy money and in the hands of an improper management that could turn ugly for the entire league. They are bound to overbid for ordinary players and inflate the transfer market which has already reached a new level this summer.

Its going to be a interesting one that.
Robhino wanted to leave and Madrid did not want to sell to Chelsea. But I am not sure this will be the case every time. Some of the targets City already have are C.Ronaldo and Fabergas, and neither of those signings will happen in the next 5 years.
Though it could be amusing to see Man City sign 5 class players and then have a mediocre squad around them.

man city is also talking about getting Buffon. Milan's president has even called Man City as playing "fantasy football". Looks like the next transfer window is going to be more of a spectacle than the football itself.
