I watched that and that must have meant a lot to Kieran himself playing under Roy Keane. Keane ripped him apart in an interview during his early United days.

Yeah...he was very critical. Got a lot of time for Kieran Richardson. Was injured a lot last season and out of shape (by his standards). He took 1 week summer break and then enrolled on a Marine's fitness course and came back about 12lbs lighter (fat wise) and a load of muscle on. He's like lightening at the minute and has been fantastic for Sunderland recently. Keane really rates him, just saw him as underachieving. Recently said that he believes Richardson will go as far as he wants to go....
