I don't really want to rub it into the faces of the Tommies but it seems like the english goalies have a tendency to choke even in youth teams eh?

So, the 25-year wait for any trophy goes on.
Don't hold your breath though.

On this evidence, it is going to be one hell of a long wait until the drought comes to an end.

Poor England... even the Sun is moody and depressed and didn't even throw a fit at the German Panzers. How boring.

They're probably busy making up transfer rumors.

HILARIOUS. Germany clobbers England, and England continues its tradition of super bad goalkeepers. Özil and Hummels were superb. I also feel very happy for Jerome Boateng and Benedikt Höwedes, who were the best defenders of the best defense.

By the way, I will also go all ROFL if some English club shells out big bucks for Sandro Wagner. He is the personification of mediocrity, just good enough to make the squad. But on the other hand, Oliver Bierhoff and Michael Preetz also only became good late, so maybe he can follow their example :)

Mesut Özil is a superb player in the right system. He couldn't really play his strengths because there's a similar (and probably even better) player in Marko Marin already on the rooster and the squad lacked some strong forwards to take up space in the box. If you can open up some room up front he'll kill with his speed and dribbling skills. Didn't work well against Italy cause he had to play forward himself. Worked fine against England, cause Sandro Wagner actually played well off the ball and open up the lanes Özil needs.
Arsenal was interested in him before he moved to Bremen, let's see if they're willing to spent a few bucks for him... won't be cheap.

Jogi Löw needs to nominate Özil asap! I'm pretty sure he could still opt for Turkey if we don't lock him up in the next qualifier.

Özil, has been capped by the German senior side already so he can't go nowhere. If it was a friendly then that doesn't count but if the match wasn't a friendly and he played for the German senior side then he isn't allowed to go anywhere by FIFA and UEFA rules.

incorrect. he has not played in an official match for the German senior team, he played in a friendly. still very much eligible for Turkey under the new rules.

Mesut Özil is not suddenly going to change his opinion. He thought long and hard before declaring that he'd play for Germany, so whether he is called up today or after 5 years, he will play for Germany. To be honest, Germany deserves him, because they made him the player that he has become.
