I beg to differ. There's enough players to field a team.

that's without a goalie as well

It's Gourcuff because I'm not rooting for Xavi and Puyol, AKA Fabregas' team.

Anyone else see the irony in rooting for the Dutch in South Africa?

Since Puerto Rico didn't make the World Cup shockingly, I will be rooting for Brazil or Chile, maybe Argentina or Spain. Not sure.

I don't know enough about soccer to say who I think will win, but I will be rooting for USA and Germany. I want desperately for England to fail too.

i assume something related to Hiddink? despite not making the cut, most ruskis i know consider Hiddink era as a success and don't really have hard feelings.

I think the defense is a bit spotty. Terry had an off year, King is an injury waiting to happen, and really, there's not much cover from the midfield.

Of course, Rooney made ManU go for a lot of games.

rooting for USA
and i would hope all other americans would root for them as well, you know, we do LIVE in america, people die in the name of this country... than you got some sonic the hedgehog haircut, orange colored oompa-loompa "PEOPLE"* rooting for italy... "oh my grandmother's best friend gynecologist was born in italy!"... please go back to your rented house in seaside heights on your parents dime (deal with these type of new yorkers all the time... im ashamed! haha)

for the record, i am part italian myself, as well as german and english, but im not some front running, anti-american

(this is in response to american's rooting for other teams... to all the other non-americans, to each your own!)

Just so you know guido is still a slur for Italians even though Jersey Shore tried to use it differently...

kthx

Even though you said it crudely, I do agree that it is so odd to see Americans vehemently hating the US national team. You live in America, you're probably 4th or 5th generation American, and yet you hate the US national team? Very odd. I root for Portugal and Italy because that's my heritage, but the US comes first because above all I'm American.

I was at a pub for the US/England game and there were a few England fans and families who were raucous and saying how much they hate the US team...then Green let the goal in and all hell broke loose. Probably one of my favorite match watching moments of my life. The place erupted with USA chants and I think some of the England supporters left because they couldn't take it anymore...which is odd considering the fervent support for English football in England.
