I hope we can count on your support against Argentina. I mean, as bad as Germany is, Argentina gotta be worse, right?

As I've said on the other thread, this is an English fans worst nightmare, I'm completely bamboozled on who I want to win. I love both managers, Maradona just reminds of of Kevin Keegan. Low is just the definition of great manager with swagger, I actually love him.

On one side, there's a young, great, entertaining team that just knocked out MY TEAM only yesterday. On the other hand, I REALLY hate Argentina. For all the history that England has gone through with both country, I hate Argentina more. But we did just knocked out by the bloody Germans. I'm really undecided, I hope it goes to a penalty shootout. :D

Hand-of-god goal by Özil in the 94th minute to make it a 5:4 German win. Deal?

^That's the only scenario I'd accept a Germany win. Other than that....

Why would they sell Ribery if he has just signed a new 5-year contract with them?

Some analysts on tv over here suggested they extended him to up his value. I'm not sure about that but he's still sellable. If they could get Özil instead he'd become expendible.

Özil is more of a center midfielder than a wing and they've got Toni Kroos to fill that role in the future.
I don't think they are willing to pay 25 or 30 million € if they have the 2nd best talent on that position in Germany already on the team.

I am with the ones that think that even with the 2-2 Germany was going to dance all over England anyways. It was really pathetic to see a team like England that had everything to make a very good run at the WC.

What will Capello do next?

And Germany, wow, a GREAT defense and Klose is one deadly striker. I'm pretty impressed by Özil and Khedira, young but yet very stable players.

Capello should stop letting Heskey be on the national team for starters.

Yeah I know (except about Kroos), but I think regardless Bayern would prefer to have Özil for some reasons, mainly him being younger and German, and he's probably a better player too. (from here on in)

Capello should go. I think this is the end of the English side for a while. They were the oldest team at the world cup if I am not mistaking and they looked like it. Sans Rooney, anyone worth a damn is at or right around 30 years old. I am a believer that lack of a winter break does hinder England come cup time. Players run alot and there is only so much a human body can take and I don't see any world beaters coming up thru the England ranks.

They actually have some young talent that might even have deserved a spot on this year's roster.

Theo Walcott and Ashley Young in particular. Put those guys on the wings and team is 10x as dynamic immediately.

I was surprised they have the oldest team btw. The goalkeeper's age probably got something to do with that. Btw he played awful imo (despite what some English press said: Alan Hansen or Lee Dixon said lose 4-1 and your goalkeeper is the best player... I didn't agree with that at all.)

Meh i don't know about 10x. They chose Young's club mate Milner over him due to a run of good form but anyone that watches the EPL can probably attest to the point that Young is the better player. Milner had an outstanding season but Young is certainly better than him, I was stunned when they left him off the roster.

Walcott is Lennon but not as technically skilled. He wouldn't have made a difference.

Yeah 10x as a matter of speaking. (

Milner is allright but he is not dynamic. That being said the biggest problem was they played really with one wing occupied mostly. For a winger that's harder, you get more space generally if the team plays wider.

I think Walcott is much better than Lennon. His dribbling is a little bit less skilled surely but he makes up for it in mentality and goal scoring, inmy opinion. Lennon is not a winner imo. Or not yet. Walcott reminds me a lot of a young Michael Owen, except that he's never used up front but on the wing. But he plays with the same urgency.

Oh of course Walcott has a huge advantage over Lennon when it comes to goal scoring mentality. Lennon rarely looks for his own shot which isn't helpful in crunch time. However, I still like Lennon more than Walcott.

IDK why James and SWP were selected over Young. Shaun wasn't even a regular starter at Man City, Bellamy/Johnson knocked him out of the starting 11. I know I'm a Villa fan but I really think Gabby and Young should have made the team over guys like Heskey, SWP, and Milner.

Actually, Toni Kroos is a year younger than Mesut Özil. He was on loan to Leverkusen the last 1 1/2 years and played brilliant last season for them.

BTW. I don't think you can blame James for losing. He should've saved that 3-1 but if it wasn't for his save it could've been 3-0 very early.
