My apologize, I thought to be white you had...you know, be white.

As for the actual game although I like Diego and think he's a great motivator he needs a better x's and o's guy, someone who would've lined them up with more of a focus on the midfield rather than trying to somehow fit all of that offensive talent together.

I'd have liked to see something more like:
Demichelis - Samuel - Heinze/anyone else worth a damn
---Macherano - Cambiasso------
Maxi---------------------Di Maria
Tevez-------Messi---------Aguero
-------------------------------

Or:
Demichelis - Samuel - Heinze
---Macherano - Cambiasso-----
Maxi-------------------Di Maria
--------Messi - Tevez-----------
-----------Milito-------------

I hope you're not trying to argue that Turkish people are not white.

I don't mean this to be offensive or to imply that being white is any better, or worse for that matter, than any other race, but Turks clearly have different pigments in their skin than do us pastey people, not that that really has anything to do with the article since they stated that the team's multi-ethnic, and ethnicity is not synonymous with race like you seemed to imply with your "white euro's" comment, i.e. poles and russians, while both slavs, are not from the same ethnic group. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ethnic?qsrc=2446

Anyway I don't see this discussion leading to much good since the difference between races are neglible beyond the simple visual differences, people are people, douchebags are douchebags and most people are decent folks regardless of race/ethnicity/any other categories you want to use to divide people.

I thought I was the only one who thought he wasn't anything special.
It also baffles me still why Cambiasso/Zanetti were not called up. Starting for the champions league winners is a pretty big deal in my opinion, and they didn't even make a world cup roster?
Woulda liked to see a lot more of Milito too.

meh, too much effort. Let's just talk football and how Diego could've fixed that squad without those **** defenders crippling his team.

PS I know you didn't start it, but you did say that Turks are White Euros when Turkey's really a bitch to classify since the country is on the asian content and the people probably genetically bar more similarity to their middle-eastern neighbors than they do to "white euros".

For starters he could have played

--------------------Milito-----------------
Aguero----------------------------Messi
-----------------Maxi?---------------------
------Cambiasso------Mascherano---

not sure who to play number 10 but not Messi. He needs to get the ball as deep as possible. Diego let him play like he did himself, do as you please walk where you like, as a result he came to collect the ball even at his own half. He can create for others but when that is his job then it's not his strongsuit, he needs to be set up more often himself. Dribble and try to make stuff happen. Lose the ball on the flank doesn't hurt as much so that's where it's safe to try anything. Ribery played one or two games at 10 too and didn't work.

Cambiasso just should have played. Aguero > Tevez (been saying it all tournament). Tevez is a bull, but he's a bit of a dumb force imo. Higuain could play, but imo he's not the best option.

I don't know if they have better alternatives in defence, although I can't imagine they don't have a better goalkeeper.

I definitely agree about playing Cambiasso with Macherano, unlike Zanetti Cambiasso was actually pretty solid with argentina although I would've played with only a 3 man back line and put another man in the midfield.

---Demichelis--Samuel--Heinze---
-----Macherano---Cambiasso-----
Maxi--------------------Di Maria
-------Messi-----Aguero-------
------------Millito------------

or just Messi - Aguero - Tevez up front with no true striker would've been my team if I were in Diego's shoes.

It wouldn't surprise me if Diego didn't tolerate them because they spoke up or disagreed with his tactics or something like that.

I'm sure, I remember Argentina's opening game where the announcer talked about how Diego said he played Macherano and Veron because of their passion and commitment to winning which I read as they played the good soldier for Diego and helped the chemistry and cohesion of the team.
