This may end up being Wigan's most incredible last ditch survival yet.

Gonna be a party up in Wigan tonight.

Just goes to show buying a boat load of players doesn't mean anything if you can't get them to work as a team.

Mancini sucks , don't understand taking off tevez for rodwell, sad he's probably gonna get fired , he holds em back IMO.

Happy for Wigan , time for us to relegate them on Tuesday though.

Maybe City officials realize now that Mancini sucks. Should ve realized that when they failed for the 2nd consecutive time in the CL group stages.

I can understand giving him a bit of a pass there...that group was brutal, and it's hardly a shock that the two teams advancing ended up meeting again in the semis.

They do have a problem with squad construction and formation, though, and a lot of that falls on his shoulders. All of their attacking players gravitate toward the center, and when things aren't working they clump together in a fashion that makes them too easy to defend. They need a bit of width provided by someone other than their fullbacks, to allow Toure more freedom of action, and they need a true defensive midfielder alongside...which is a problem, given how much they've spent on putative defensive mids over the past couple seasons.

Was not ready for that goal when it happened, but stunning result. Congratulations to Wigan.

I'm not regularly watching Manchester City but they were giving Wigan so much space in first half it was almost hilarious.

Surely, their CL group was very strong but finishing the group without a single win was really underwhelming.
