Madrid really paid for the wrong winger from Spurs. Townsend is class!

Rooney!!!!!

Townsend having a quality game, if only Welbeck is aware of his surroundings and Sturridge actually shooting inside the box rather than outside maybe could've been ahead earlier

Sturridge is one selfish mofo, Suarez might just bite his balls sometime soon.

I still get irritated when people say we never should've sold him.

Would take off Sturridge for Lampard/Milner/Wilshere, need to shore up the midfield, can't seem to get a hold of it

Edit: Scratch off Lampard, we need more possession don't understand taking off one of the best players at keeping the ball

He's damn good in FIFA though.

Rooney is bossing the game. Just a class apart from everyone else on the field, including Townsend.

Rooney, Townsend and Baines have been standout performers so far.

Agreed, although I'd add that Welbeck and the defence has had a very good game too

I think Hodgson needs to explore playing Cole & Baines together with Gibbs on the bench as insurance for left back. Baines would be very good as a tucked in left side player in a middle 3.

I think that's a very valid point, especially with that left side being England's weakness (again), apart from Townsend I'm not convinced on any of the other wingers. Maybe Wilshere could play there as he's done for Arsenal recently. But Baines would provide an extra attacking threat down the left (as well as set pieces) with Cole and Roy knows he would defend and help out Cole too, I think somebody needs to get this idea to Roy

Anyway the next fixture is next month against Germany or Australia for a friendly so I hope Roy would experiment then another friendly in March, he definitely won't experiment for the warm up games so let's hope he tries on these 2 upcoming friendlies.

Was Sturridge really selfish today? He's been anything but since he joined us.

Yes he was, he had a couple of good moments but there were also moments where his decision making left a lot to be desired
