I'd love to see one of Immobile or Lopez playing ending up looking like a better player than Lewandowski in Klopp's scheme.

Nuremberg are getting dismantled. Drmic and Nilsson had already gone, now Hasebe signed for Frankfurt and Hlousek for Stuttgart. Chandler and Kiyotake should be the next ones.

Not surprising. Chandler is already gone to Frankfurt as well.

Kiyotake will probably go to the EPL.

Immobile deal is done btw. He was in Dortmund today to take the medical.

Yeah, but that was to be expected given that they need some money and always sell a couple of their players no matter if they stay up or get relegated.

Though, they got one back and signed Jakub Sylvestr of Erzgebirge Aue, last years top scorer of the 2nd Bundesliga.
He had an opt out fee of 1.7 mil euros.

According to Tim Wiese, his current weight is 122 kg.

Comment: He probably now has the looks, the vertical and the lateral quickness of a brick.

How does Choupo-Moting's contract situation look like?

Seems like Mainz could make some serious money selling him after the WC.

The contract is over. :nonono:
12/13 he was injured the whole season so there was little incentive for both sides to seek a contract renewal. Choupo couldn't have gotten a pay raise & it looked like we might waste a lot of money if we give him an additional 2 years or so. :dontknow:

He's gone for nothing, no doubt. :noway:

Love Choupo-Moting, he's improved so much in the last 12 months. Hope we can get him as it looks like Keller wants to be able to play a 4-4-2.

Marvin Ducksch signed for Paderborn on loan. Really curious to see what he can do in the Bundesliga.

It especially sucks because it means we will lose Nicolai Müller for nothing as well next summer.
Now that Choupo is gone we definitely can't afford to sell Müller this summer because otherwise our offense would get even more depleted than it already is after Choupo Motings departure.
And whether Malli will return after 14/15 is questionable as well. :-?

We could've definitely used the 4-5 mil. € from selling Nicolai Müller but there's no way of selling him without risking a relegation battle.

He would fit in very well @Schalke with a regular 4-2-3-1 as well. Tuchel has helped him improving his defense a lot.
Schalke do have some quality wingers in Farfan and Sam. Both are better on the right wing, though.
Draxler had a pretty poor year on the left wing and I think he is better suited for the OM position.

So it's not like there is a super fierce competition for that LW position. If Choupo Moting plays well there's a pretty good chance he can grab a starting spot at Schalke despite the quality offense of Huntelaar, Draxler, Boateng, Meyer, Farfan, Szalai & Sam.

The other reported offers from AS Rome or Inter don't really fit well if you ask me.

Inter Milan? He can stay in Mainz if he wants to play Europa League. The money would be better in Milan no doubt but that's about its.

Rome? Their offense is pretty good these days. Quality from 1 to 8 in Totti, Destro, Ljajic, Strootman, Florenzi, Nainggolan, Gervinho, and especially Pjanic.
He would have no lobby going there from the unknown club Mainz 05 without a transfer fee. Doubt he wants to be a bench warmer at age 25.

The best option for him of course is to stay in Mainz for at least another year.

Choupo seems like just the kind of guy Wolfsburg would usually overpay into not caring anymore.

Well, it seems like Simon Zoller will go to Cologne, even tough Express tried to make it look like Gladbach was going all in for him as well.

Also, tomorrows kicker will have some news on Gladbach stating that we're going all in on Choupo-Mouting.
I'd really like that to happen as he could either play on the left wing or up front, giving us a nice rotation for those offensive spots with him, Kruse, Raffael, Hahn, Herrmann, Hrgota and Traoré.

BTW: We'll need a new thread for the upcoming season, IMO.
