Select 3 to 5 defenders. Top voted players, formation dependent, will appear on the final squad which will have no less than 3, more than 5 defenders.

I put quite a long shortlist down, so if you still have to take it upon yourself to disagree with someone I posted then get stuffed. :nod:

Thiago Silva - Core piece of Brazil's squad. Capitulated without their captain v Germany.

Mats Hummels - 2 goals. Absolutely stunning performances all around.

Giancarlo González - Helped Costa Rica to a stunning goal conceding record of 2 in 5 matches (v URU, ITA, ENG, GRE, NED).

Ron Vlaar - Who can

Daley Blind - tell these

Stefan de Vrij - guys apart?

Marcos Rojo - Strongest Argentine defender

Philipp Lahm - It's Philipp Lahm

Rafa Marquez - Mexico's best defender. Scored crucial goal v Costa Rica. Insane performance v. BRA, NED.

Dani Alves - Cocky **** **** **** shouldn't be here, but he's still appearing in a lot of tournament XIs.

Ezequiel Garay - Included by El Turco as a wild card.

Feel more than welcome to add your own if you like. There were a lot of people I could've added but limited to 10 in the poll creation

I did vote Lahm and Hummels, but I really missed Garay and Vlaar.

My back four would probably look like that:

Vlaar-Hummels-Garay-Lahm

(Also Claar is normally a Center Back, but it seems to be trending to put CB on the wings anyway..

)

One could also include Blind, Boateng, Rojo,...
