Does FIFA have contingencies for riots during or....?

Post#1 » by Ganesh Ujwal » Wed Dec 10, 2014 4:31 am

My Actual Question: Does FIFA have contingencies for riots during or after a match that make the winner incapable of continuing the tournament?

During the monumental defeat of Brazil yesterday, some people jokingly said on Twitter that Holland and Argentina should hope that the Brazil fans storm the field and lynch both teams (their own team for disappointing them so much and the Germans for revenge). Of course this would never happen because it would be terribly unsportsmanlike, not to mention a gigantic smear on the reputation of the country.

But what if that actually would have happened? What if the fans of a heavily losing team storm the field and attack the winning team, incapacitating some of their players? Does the FIFA have rules for such an occurence?

It could never happen. Security is insane. I could see the crowd being opened fire upon before anyone makes it to the pitch.

Are you talking about a bigger version of this?

That was unexpected and it was one dude who probably planned the whole thing out in detail.

If say the crowd during the 7-1 was getting really pissed, security would be on guard. It's kinda like a person's body language, you can predict how a crowd is going to act.
