First game boring.

France to make the final.

There is group of the dead though:). Holland, USA, Italy, Chile.

lol

Even though none of those teams made the finals, that group would be the best and toughest group in the WC wouldn't it?

Really?

2 second or third tier European teams, a poor (at present) south American team and Nigeria.

I actually think that the 3 Leicester players in the Nigerian team could qualify for the next round.

Croatia is in first tier right now, maybe 2nd behind Germany, France and Spain and Iceland is a very physical team. I don't like Argentina team but they have the best player and a terrific strikers. D looks toughest group because the level of the others groups is poor with one or two teams very bad. E looks like the weaker group.

Group A Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Uruguay - Hosts get a nice lift, but even then I'm not sure if I'd put them over Egypt. Uruguay should win this group, but they've been on the underwhelming side in their last 3 tournaments (14 WC, 15 and 16 CA).

Group B Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran - I like Spain to win this group, Portugal should advance. I think both teams advance to the QF given the possible matchups with Group A in the 16.

Group C France, Australia, Peru, Denmark - Solid draw for France, think it'll be between Peru and Denmark for 2nd. Peru really came on strong at the end of qualifying.

Group D Argentina, Iceland, Croatia, Nigeria - Toughest group to predict outside of Argentina.

Group E Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia - Tough call outside of Brazil.

Group F Germany, Mexico, Sweden, South Korea - Germany and Mexico go through, Mexico will likely get knocked out by Brazil in the 16.

Group G Belgium, Panama, Tunisia, England - Belgium and England should cruise here. I enjoy watching Panama play at times, a team that wears their heart on the sleeve. Nice underdog story who barely missed out on the 14 WC.

Group H Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan - Most evenly matched group. No Cup contenders here, but all solid teams. Guess I'll say Poland and Colombia.

Salah is probably out for the WC with a dislocated shoulder. There is still hope left that he makes it but I can“t imagine how down the whole country must be right now. Damn.

Didn't know where to post it, but the Egyptians can stop complaining about Ramos.
10 minutes in the friendly against Belgium en they already have two bookings after dirty tackles on Hazard (after 30 seconds) and Carrasco.
It's a freaking friendly...

Hey everyone, if you're looking for a great World Cup predictions discussion, you should check this out:

Who's Winning the 2018 World Cup?

It's a specially made World Cup thread, where if you write the best prediction for the tournament, you get paid! Basically, it works like this:

1. Everyone gives a dollar to join, and you get 1 comment + 1 vote in the thread.

2. For every vote your comment receives, you earn a share of all the money collected! (And if you vote for a top comment, you earn money too!)

3. The votes are gonna be tallied just before the Russia vs. Saudia Arabia kick off match, and then the payouts will be sent!

So if you're looking for an in-depth discussion, or you want to write-up a great case for your World Cup pick, you should join in!
