Watching Kane for England is weird. He's so much less involved than he is for Spurs. He looks unstoppable at times for us, for England he's mostly a passenger. A lot of that is down to not playing with a world class creator like Eriksen, with Poch's team shape. Still had a good tournament with 6 goals, but I was disappointed by his Croatia performance.

De Bruyne is a top 5 player in the world though, and Hazard top 20, with a host of other quality players. I agree with you for sure.

Not sure why Southgate didn't play the team I suggested of players who hadn't just been eliminated from the tournament - other than that he's a stubborn, ignorant fool.

The team in the first half looked mentally tired. Kane looked 5 stone overweight and unfit - as he has for several games now. Sterling looked like he thought the goal was a no-go zone. and then of course Alli had to be brought on as a sub. we needed goals and didn't play Vardy. We needed passion and didn't play Alexander Arnold.

Thought Stones had a good match and good competition. Trippier easily our best player of the tournament but he looked dead tired second half too.

And even with all that we only lost 2-0 to the best team in the competition. I think that just shows how much of a muchness world football has become.

Disagree about belgium. They may have the best players but as a team they are mediocre. Imagine if they had the cohesion, discipline and relentless hustle of japan or croatia. Then it would have been a blowout every game. But they don't have that so they don't deserve the finals.

- the first game against england was one of the most disgusting i have ever seen. An insult to the fans as well as the game of football itself.
- They barely escaped against japan.
- with a better referee would've lost against brazil. Even with the preferential treatment they still needed an own goal by brazil. Brazil dominated most of that game (imo, but stats back it up) but of course courtois did have a great performance.
- France was clearly better than them. Belgium had no answer for france's defense AND france had twice as many shots.

This belgian team reminds me of the usa basketball team that lost in 2004.
