Should they give the title to Liverpool if....?

Post#1 » by sovietchild » Mon Mar 16, 2020 6:50 am

If they cancel the season, should they give the title to Liverpool?

Liverpool worked hard this season. I think they should give the title to them. What do ya'll think?

If they cancel the season, it'll be nullified.
Clubs in the relegation battle will never accept keeping the standing as it is.

Keep in mind that the tv and sponsoring losses will be huge if they cancel the season.
Nobody is gonna do that.

They will wait and wait and eventually move the summer transfer window and EURO 2020 backwards to finish the season.

Yes they could wait. They could even prolong the season to 1.5 season, if they have to wait till November or something.

Well, it's not official yet. It's an advice that has yet to be confirmed by the global belgian board.
UEFA already chipped in and threatened to take away European football, so I'm guessing it's going to take some time.

Yep, they threaten to take away European football from the Belgian teams for next season.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has said there is "no way" Liverpool will be denied the opportunity to win the Premier League title this season despite the coronavirus pandemic.

It's not about respect or disrespect. It is about truth and and rules. If the season will be annulled about which title we are talking about?

So, the Eredivisie nullified the whole season.
No champion, no relegation, no promotion.

A sign of what's to come everywhere?

English football is much more competitive. Also, Leeds United is few games away from securing promotion. How can they just throw everything away?

According to Transfermarkt, Liverpool is worth more than entire Dutch league.

AZ and Ajax were on equal points.
Cambuur was 13 points clear in the second division.

I just don't understand these decisions. Ligue 1 has now been cancelled (by the govt?).

We're not all having our lives cancelled and started again after the lockdown is lifted. Carry on from where we left off and finish the seasons. Delay european competition for a year if necessary. Let the leagues finish and then decide if they start a shortened version or whatever for the new season.

How about this: no 2020/2021 season.

The domestic and European leagues and cups can be finished until december.
Then switch to international football, because there's Nations League and World Cup qualifiers to play.
We end with the European Championships in may/june 2021.

Restart regular football life for the season 21/22.

While the quality of play is obviously much better,
EPL is essentially a one horse raise since mid-October. Not sure how you can call that competitive.

I think we are at a point where it makes no sense to resume any domestic season.
All involved countries are still far away from regular life.
The only ones denying that are those that are losing billions from tv and sponsor deals but still have to pay the ridiculous wages.
