**** this is not the way to start the season, but this is a direct result of Levy dragging out every damn negotiation. Can't say I disagree with his tactic but the start of the season is generally our strongest point.

Anybody know of some service I can purchase to watch all Spurs matches? FInding torrents these past 2 weeks has given me headaches. And someone pleaseeee PM me if you find a torrent for the west brom match.

I guess we just have to be patient with AVB and the new lads. The players are adjusting to a new system so there's going to be some growing pains, but these last two performances have been very similar to the end of last season; having a lot of the ball, showing some signs of great football but never really capitalising upon that. Still, one can't blame the system for the goal... 10 players ball watching is simply a product of mental lapsing. As far as I'm concerned AVB's only error was bringing Jenas on for Sandro instead of Livermore, who was pretty sub standard.

And let's not forget that we had 0 points at the same stage last season, albeit against better opponents.

And unfortunately I can't help you with the game dilemma. I live in the UK so I can watch a decent portion of the games live on TV, so I've never really had to look for alternatives. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out though.

Dembele is a solid signing, but where does that leave our midfield? We're in need of creativity and I don't think Livermore can provide that on a Modric level.

To be frank, I don't know. I agree with your assesment of Livermore, plus I've been a little disappointed with him so far this season. I'm delighted with the signings that we're making but I think we need to see the rest of the window unfold before we can speculate as to how AVB envisages the team.

Might see some 2 forward formations for the first time in a while if we don't sign a CAM.

Dembele will probably make Tottenham more of a running team, since he doesn't have Modric's control of the ball, tempo and creativity, but he is good at trading passes on the midfield and dribbling with his damn long legs. Villas Boas will probably ask VdV to play more at the midfield and be that kind of creative pass, and will push Bale and Lennon higher up in the field. Last season the basic scheme was a 4-4-1-1, now Tottenham might play more of a 4-2-3-1 or even 4-3-3 with two wing forwards. Should be nice to watch.

Don't like Van der Vaart that much. I don't think he's complete enought to be the guy for Tottenham, he can pass and shoot, he's good, but he isn't dynamic enough to be an offensive anchor. Bale is a hell of a player, but is too one dimensional to be an offensive anchor. Tottenham should afford an elite striker or trequartista to anchor this offense. They are not the type of team to spend a lot of money in this kind of signing, but they should sign someone like Cavani, Dzeko or Llorente.

Tottenham should be a terrific defensive team. Dembelé physicality should improve Tottenham's defense. Lloris signing will be good, goal keeper for a decade.

Dzagoev is the probable answer for us at CAM, but can he be a difference maker of Moutinho/Modric's level? I'm not so sure, but he's better than Livermore right now with more potential.

Remy, now there's a familiar target...

Kaboul hit is huge.

Triple dose of bad news... Lloris has apparently said that he's 'underwhelmed' by Spurs' personal terms and is still mulling it over, Remy bid has been rejected according to SSN, and Kaboul being out for 4 months...

We should give up on Remy, we've struck out too many times.

Still hot on the trail of Moutinho/Willian apparently. A little over 24 hours left in the window, so this should be interesting.

In:

Sigurdsson
Vertonghen
Adebayor
Dembele
Lloris
Dempsey

Out:

Modric
Van der Vaart
Dos Santos
Kranjcar
Huddlestone
Corluka
Pienaar
Bassong

Good window? Bad window? Certainly a lot of activity. It's disappointing that we couldn't close out the Moutinho deal, but Dempsey and Lloris for a combined 14 million pounds is a near masterstroke. We haven't exactly filled the Modric / VDV void so it's hard to feel like we did anything but downgrade in the midfield. With that said, Dempsey and Dembele are both very versatile and are perhaps more suiting of AVB's system, which I suppose is the most important thing right now. We also made a huge profit and can maybe reinvest some of that money into more players in January.

I'm sad to see VDV go, who I thought was a next level player, but I expect us to go with a 4-3-3 and a slow CAM wouldn't work well in that format.

IDK how I feel about this window. Until Parker comes back we're kinda screwed in the midfield. I unfortunately still don't know how to watch Spurs games in the US, but Sandro seems to be flopping a bit as a starter.

We certainly got better talent wise if you count Adebayor, but it will be interesting to see how all of it fits together.

Watching the Lazio/Tottenham match now...the Fulham boys look great, especially Clint. Defoe continues to be disappointing, how much longer until Adebayor is match fit?

Wow, you've gotta be joking me, 2 goals taken away in the same match? Dempsey was a smidge offsides but the second disallowed goal was just stupid.

jk, make that 3 disallowed. Awful.

Love Dempsey's aggressiveness though, we've needed that for a while.

It's just a matter of time before this team starts banging goals in. We have so much attacking talent and Bale, Lennon and Dembele are all very capable of creating plenty of chances and scoring themselves. I'll be extremely disappointed if we fail to beat QPR on Sunday.

We played great, it's just a shame that it was mostly blighted by bad refereeing and racist Lazio fans.

Ya we played very well against Lazio. The QPR game had one overarching theme to me: AVB needs to stop dicking with the lineup and go with a more Redknapp strategy of playing your best players in their best position.

Putting Bale at LB is doing us no good, he was barely even involve in the first half. Same goes for Dempsey who looked lost cutting in from the wing. Once those two were moved to their natural positions, both excelled. Here's the lineup I would like to see.

Friedel
Naughton/Caulker/Vertonghen/Walker
Bale-Sandro-Dembele
Dempsey-Adebayor-Lennon

Dempsey would play more of a central role here while Bale would fill in the wing gap.

No more of this Defoe pipe dream, right when Ade is match fit he needs to be in. Defoe is perennially offsides and can't hold up the ball to save his life. He has a good match every once in a while but it's usually against crap opponents like Reading. He was ineffective against QPR and I don't recall him putting anything on frame the first 70 minutes.

I'm very happy with the additions of Naughton, Caulker and Vertonghen. Kyle looks like a carbon-copy of Ekotto while Vertonghen is immense, he does everything well. Sandro is very meh but he's really just a placeholder until Parker gets back.

With the lineup I'm suggesting I think we could really make some noise. Hopefully AVB goes with it to start the game rather than pissing away 45 minutes until he decides to make the switch.
