If Ronaldo plays well and we win, we are dependent on Ronaldo.

If Ronaldo doesn't play well and we still win, people are always talking about how he didn't "show up" or whatever, they don't seem to give us any credit.

The thing is, Even on a game he doesn't do ****, Ronaldo takes so much Attention from the other teams defense, that opens a lot of space for other players... If only Portugal had a real striker:(

So looking forward to tomorrow's Germany vs Portugal match. Hope my boy Ronaldo is fit (and consequently plays great) and we'll get to see a great match.

This is such a **** group for me. As a Portuguese-American, I'm pretty torn. I'm puling for USA first and foremost, but will support my homies in Portugal whenever they don't play dem stars n stripes.

And yes, Portugal was lucky to get in. We looked like **** in qualifiers. I don't think that's debatable. Let's just hope that if it comes down to PKs next round, we actually let the world' best player take one...

Madrid won the tenth, Kings won the Stanley Cup, Spurs won the NBA championship, and Nadal won the French Open. Just praying for Portugal to win the world cup now

I'm not a heat fan but I've got to say, the hate that guy is getting this year is crazy. So many people happy to see him fail. Rumours have him leaving the heat- maybe he's in toronto next year ;)

Not gonna lie, sports teams have been kind to me this year.

Spurs won the 'ship, Kaymer won the double, all I need is a German win and my sports day is perfect. :D That being said, we must not allow the Bizarro German NT to show up, prominently featuring:
* Having 80% ball possession but creating no chances
* Non existant movement off the ball
* Laughably harmless corners
* Totally forgetting that defense is 50% of the game, not 5%
* Getting destroyed by any semi decent winger

Thought: I have seen a small rebirth of the 3-CB-backline, most prominently in the Dutch NT. IMHO this would be a more natural fit for us, e.g. in the Boateng / Hummels / Merte variant. Bayern also did it in the DFB Pokal with Boa / Javi / Dante, with Javi playing like a boss.

Jogi will never do it, but after seeing Netherlands obliterating Spain, there are worse things.

He can go **** himself. But then again, I've hated him and his BS ways forever, even before LeDecision.

On a sidenote.
Germany will play it's 100th game at a world cup today, being the first nation to do so.

As for the game.
I just hope we somehow manage to play solid defensively, given that our offense is always able to score at least one goal.

Even though I don't like our chances this year, I'm pretty excited for tonight. Winning the first game, especially against Portugal, would already take a lot of pressure off the team going forward in this group.

Let's do this! Deutschlaaaaand!

How did you come about supporting that random mix of teams, if you don't mind me asking? In Toronto, no less?

Am I the only one who thinks Germany will heavily miss Reus? Due to their tendency of not creating chances.

This is the group of death for me, USA and Ghana are really solid teams. Ghana was a Suarez handball away from making the SEMI-FINALS of the world cup last time.

Of course we will miss our best offensive player. What kind of silly question is this

Let me rephrase it, didn't want to put it out as straight-forwardly - Germany will have a lot of hassle getting out of this group. (which they otherwise wouldn't have, if they were healthy)

SO a tottally crap no fact based probabilities of getting to the 2nd fase

Germany: 85%
Portugal: 70%
Ghana: 25%
USA: 20%

Dude is supporting Spurs and Real Madrid. He likes winner teams. Why would he support Toronto Raptors?
