The CL loss was one of the better ways to lose. The team is angry and some flaws (lack of depth and goalkeeping) got exposed. If they had just got their asses handed to them fair and square, it would have been demoralizing.

There are rumors of a huge transfer warchest. Between the CL money and Coutinho cash, it should be greater than 200m pounds. Liverpool already has Keita coming in. They need another winger, a CAM, a DM and a GK. If they can get several world class players to fill those holes, Liverpool will be even tougher next year.

DM . . . check. Fabinho was the fastest transfer saga ever.

Mane - Firmino - Salah
???? - Keita - Fabinho
Robertson - Van Dijk - Lovren - TAA
????

CAM . .. check. Lyon dragged this one out a little.

Mane - Firmino - Salah
Fekir - Keita - Fabinho
Robertson - Van Dijk - Lovren - TAA
?????

Still need a back up winger and a GK. Not sure how much cash they have left or if Keita counts against it or last year's spending. Assuming that he counts against this year and my estimate was right, Liverpool should have about 70m pounds plus what they get from sales left. They seem to be balking at the huge prices being asked for Allison and Oblak.

Liverpool's midfield went from being pretty average to one of the best in the world. At least, based on the last 12 months of play. Fifa only means so much, but the fact that 7 of Liverpool's future starters were in their "team of the season" for last year is encouraging.

Sad that Fekir deal fell through but maybe it's for the best considering his injuries and **** up knee

Yes, disappointing but maybe this prevents us from having another Sturridge type situation on our hands.

Sturridge was still more than worth it. Cost like 12 million had brilliant season with him and Suarez up top, and was decent later on those rare occassions when he could play.

Though yeah, it's risky to splash out so much cash on Fekir if he becomes injury prone like Sturridge, Reus etc... are

Yeah Nabil Fekir is still signing for Liverpool after the WC. My word on that.

I'm not sure what to believe in regards to Fekir. His agent stated the story is not over. If Liverpool moved on, he would have defended his client in order for other clubs not to be put off by the knee. At a press conference the following day, Fekir said he feels like before his injury.

He's going to be a LFC player fairly shortly

Good to see Salah has signed extension. Contracts don't always mean much in footy, but it's something. Teams happy with him, he's happy with team. Could be worse

Shaqiri doesn't impress me.

Allison sounds a great upgrade.

We brought on Lallana in a CL Final. Shaqiri is a big upgrade there and for cheap.

Shaqiri is a depth signing.

We need to get Allison over the line. Would be HUGE.

Liverpool now have a Top 5 manager in the World, the best player in the PL, the best CB in the PL, a top 3 GK in the PL and arguably the best midfield, front three and FB's in the league. That's astonishing. Barring major injuries this is our first legit shot at winning the PL.
