The facts:
- contract til 2016
- Tuchel wanted to get rid of him
- not a lot of clubs wanted him (Eintracht Frankfurt was basically Gala's only noteworthy competition for his services)
- Eintracht Frankfurt didn't want to pay any fee due to his high wages and short contract length
- he played terrible last season - don't know why (maybe he had motivational problems after riding the bench to win the WC  )
- Dortmund played better as soon as he got injured in the 2nd half of the season last year
- recently he played and trained with Dortmund U23 team (4th league team)
- he scored an own goal for Dortmund U23 team

In short: there's no market for him.

dont buy there was no market for him. surely plenty of teams willing to spend more than million for a guy that was in world cup winning roster, for some depth if nothing else

Two additional points:

- The guy is a legend among Dortmund fans. Similar to Schweinsteiger's departure, teams don't insist on a high fee because they think they owe the player to make a move happen. Moreover, Großkreutz not playing causes a lot of unneccessary and disturbing media attention.
- Großkreutz is someone who heavily values the history and fanbase of a club, so I think he was not even interested in joining several teams that have asked for his services.

He is not among the technically most gifted players in Europe but I think you gonna love him because of what a hard worker he is and how he connects with fans. On a last note, he and Podolski have established a good relationship during the world cup, so having a friend on the team should benefit both as well as Gala.

Guillem Balague is legit right? If so, De Gea deal is done. We get Navas back. **** gutted.

Yeah, it stings though. Not as bad as losing Pogba for sweet **** all, but De Gea is (and yes I wear pretty thick Man U goggles) easily one of the best goalies in the world. He is an incredible shot stopper, and pretty good distributor and can actually command a presence in the box, unlike when he first came over and was flapping all over the place.

He is, well, he was, our best player.

Navas was in the world cup right? And he played well there? Trying to remember if I have seen him play.

Agreed. I also think it's a pretty good deal, all things considered. Could do a lot worse than Navas.

Martial is good. 40 mil. are way too much for a 19 y/o, though.

De Gea is special, but Navas is very good. It's your keeper, you'll be fine

I usually try to watch the top matches from Ligue 1. Like that league. More tactical approach than the usual Bundesliga "run you opponent to death or get run to death approach". Bundesliga is certainly more attractive to watch long-term, though, because more action happens.

And of course I watched Martial destroy my team in the middle of a Noachian flood in preseason. 21/22 players on the pitch were in deep trouble but he made it look like it was a totally normal game.

Zenit requested 100m for Axel (lol) so Levy offered them 13m (LOL). The wheeler dealer strikes again!
