Probably after Bayern Munich.

But it's not like it's coming from nowhere if you ask me. Schalke have a lot of individual quality on their roster but tactically there is a lot of room for improvement.

A coach with a better tactical understanding would do wonders for them. Today is just like in the group stage vs. Chelsea when they lost twice by 3 goals. 2nd game Keller tried exactly the same approach that didn't work in the first game already.
When the scoreline was 0-2 today Keller should've made some changes to strengthen the defense as it was pretty obvious Real was going to score again. But it didn't seem like Keller changed anything in half time. He just stuck to the game plan that wasn't working in the first half already.

Not that it would've changed the outcome but at least it might not have been that embarassing then.

Credit to Schalke's fans, though. Singing while down half a dozen. Great support.

I feel sorry for Keller, Schalke is toxic. They fired a player's coach like Huub Stevens for being "too old fashioned", yet fired a coaches' coach like Ralf Rangnick for being "too distant" and fired Jupp effing Heynckes for "being neither a player's nor a tactical coach." Even SAF would bomb in Schalke. :banghead:

Firing Huub Stevens after a few bad games was a huge blow. The man led them to a first place in group stage over Arsenal and they had started really well in the Bundesliga until a few injuries stopped their run.

Stevens was a bad firing, but many of the others, like slomka, Magath and rangnick, just weren't working out, and now they've given Keller more support than he's deserved.

Actually, we are not playing well today. Sitting too deep and giving Leverkusen too much space on the wings.
Still took a 1-0 lead at HT, though. Okazaki should've scored one earlier, too.

Gladbach :-( I know GoT is coming back soon, but winter is over it's time to play again. Kruse has been absolutely awful since the winter and the whole team just need to get started. Atleast Leverkusen lost so the CL dream isn't dead entirely, but 7 points is going to take a serious winning streak like they had in the first half of the season. Thankfully almost all of the toughest games are out of the way so if they can find their form the points will be there to be had. But like, it has to start now.

Here's to hoping Hoppenheim can give em some help with Wolfsburg.

If someone had told me prior to the season that we are on 6th spot after match day 23 with 37 points I would've hospitalized him.

But I'm not gonna complain. It's awesome. Although, we could still use a better front line. :-?

Meanwhile...Bayern leads 1-0 after 2 minutes lol.

Kinda unlucky for Schalke, though. Free kick that would've gone nowhere deflected from Neustädter into the net.

Really regretting watching this one. Thought the world was so much better off without Guardiola's tiki-taka. At least Bayern have a few players that like to play more vertical passes from the midfield.

there's three. I'm sure Bayern have set 6 as the benchmark

is Muller live-tweeting from the stands?

EDIT: That's 4. Apparently they're going for 6 in the first half.

4-0. Maybe this will finally be the end of Keller. Hopefully.
