They sure could've used a quality DM. The trio of Coquelin, Flamini and Arteta doesn't exactly scream world class to me.
Should've put in a bid for Wanyama.

Coquelin is many times our best player! I was crying for a new DM before, but i am now pretty happy with him. The only thing we really need, is confidence to shoot the fukin ball! And start the ox

Coquelin isn't that good. He's not as bad as some of the 6s you've played but he's not good enough to justify not shelling out for Witsel, Carvahlo or Krychowiak. And you still need to replace Per so that the young CBs aren't rushed, while also adding more goal scorers up front, even if Wenger refuses to move on from the 4-2-3-1.

If Arsenal had shelled out for Witsel, Garay, Lacazette/Draxler/Yarmolenko, and Kruse/Mehmedi; which would take upwards of 100M euros, aka a lot less than Wenger claims to have in his warchest; they could win the EPL and make genuine noise in europe. But arsene was too cheap for that/too busy waiting to solve his needs with bargains/steals.

As is you're still too mediocre in the front 3 outside of 'lexi; you still lack the caliber of holding player a club with the ambitions you claim to have needs behind all of those talented 8s and 10s; and you're CB rotation is still dicey with Gabe and Chambers still being so young behind the excellent Koscielny.

Man United's window is just disastrous. No real rhyme or reason to anything they do...It's like their transfer strategy is to sign the highest possible ranked players on FIFA by bidding down the list until someone signs. I think it's a while before United win another league title. LVG doesn't seem to know what he's doing with United. Uncreative tactics. Looked at where United had possession...all down the right side of the pitch. The defense pushes up way too far, but it has to because Schneiderlin /Carrick / Schweini combinations are such static options. Who are their strikers? Who's going to score? Why would they allow Januzaj out on loan? Why Martial? Why so many midfielders? 13? It's all sort of artificially put together, and United supporters may be frustrated for a few years.

Arsenal's was disastrous, too. I honestly don't know why Wenger didn't shell out ≈£25m for Lacazette. He's scored 125 goals in 189 appearances. Great goal scoring record. He's only 24, and players improve dramatically under Wenger. Own goal won't suffice for scoring. Cavani and Benzema are an awful lot of money for players that probably wouldn't produce much more than Giroud for Arsenal. Lacazette is great value for money. Statistically, he's outstanding. He'd be an upgrade to Welbeck & Walcott at striker. The squad needs the same depth that recent title winners have possessed. On the good side, I think the defense has depth: Gibbs, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gabriel, Chambers, Debuchy, Bellerin, Monreal. 8 is quite a lot to ask for, especially with past years in mind. However, aside from Flamini on a free, there's been no DM signed aside from Alex Song. Why gamble on only Coquelin? Why no push for Kongdobia? For Lars Bender? For Schneiderlin (when not paired with Carrick AND Schweini :D )? For Carvahlo? For Krychowiak? It's so frustrating! How does this team keep me so excited? Shocking. No additions to a squad that's so close to a title. A goalkeeper change is hardly going to make up the difference that De Bruyne, Sterling, Ottamendi, Delph. I'm not saying spend £150m, but they owe the supporters at least £40m. Can you imagine the profits they're going to announce? Note: 2010 Summer Window Transfers: Chamakh, Squallaci, Koscielny.

Quite a quality result window from Everton. Didn't lose any key pieces. Added Cleverley, Deulofeu, Rodríguez, Funes Mori, & Lennon. That's 5 quality squad options if Cleverley develops into a proper PL player. Still, they didn't stretch out for a big signing. Liverpool's squad really doesn't impress more than Everton's. In a way, that should frustrate both teams. Everton should be "going for it" and Liverpool aren't spending with the other big teams. I'd like to see Everton win a cup this year. And if not them, Newcastle. (lol, though).

Manchester City look like world beaters early on. Raheem Sterling is more than I thought he was. No longer do I feel comfortable saying "Coutinho is better."
To Dare Is To Do? 13 League Titles. You've only got 2.

I think inter have had a pretty good window too. They shoulda kept kovacic too seeing that FFP is a farce anyways

I think gabriel can become solid for us and push mertesacker to a backup role. Coquelin is alright but I dont think he's the issue the team have the moment. The issues we have are depth in general in that position and the lack of goal scoring. We create tons of chances, probably the most in the league IIRC but we can't finish and our conversion rate is horrendous. We didn't address either and god knows what going to happen this season. Looking like another forgettable season when the injury issues come around.

Wenger runs his team like I run my FM teams, looking to buy low and sell high. Difference is my cheating self gets to use FM Scout and he doesn't.

I don't know enough about Bilic to verify or deny the other statement, though, but they did well to win at Anfield and the Emirates.

I am sorry but their midfield and attacking options are just much much better than Spurs.
They have Alex Song as cdm, Kouyate, Lanzini, Payet all good players that can easily play for Spurs in their XI. In addition to these, they have Noble and new transfer Michail.

they have better forwards in general. Zarate, Andy Carroll and Jelavic. They also have Valencia - he is out for like 2 months - and Sakho.

When I look at Spurs, there are few players who could play for West Ham. LLoris, Eriksen and Kane.
But West Ham has a lot more that could play for Spurs. Alex Song, Kouyate, Payet, Lanzini, Zarate, Valencia, Jelavic etc.

Lloris
Walker - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose
Dier - Bentaleb
Son - Eriksen - Chadli

I'm really satisfied with Bayern's moves.

They finally have two players who share some similarities with Robben and Ribery so that they are able to replace them if one is or worst case both are injured. This was an issue over the last years because Bayern relies on their wing players and it did hurt them more than often when not Ribery and Robben were available at the same time. Moreover, Costa as well as Coman are very young and could be replacements in the long-term. Ribery and Robben are both on the wrong side of 30 and Bayern has now started a smooth period of transition. Especially Costa is a huge steal considering his performances so far. He obviously has some flaws but creates at least 5 high-percentage chances with his speed and dribblings.
Vidal gives the team more grittiness in central midfield. As much as I love Schweinsteiger, Vidal should be a better solution now and in the long-term and was not even that expensive.
Kimmich is highly talented and if you don't know his name by now, you should definitely keep it in mind. This kid is totally a Pep player and could develop into an outstanding midfielder. He was not a cheap addition but buying him that early could pay off.

What still bothers me though is the lack of options at CB after Dante's departure without signing a replacement. Although it worked pretty well last Saturday against Leverkusen, it could become an issue within the course of the season, especially since Benatia, Martinez and Badstuber are (unfortunately) heavily injury prone.

Man City clearly had the best window. If De Bruyne and Otamendi play anything like they did last season, they will be hard to stop and are clear BPL favorites right now.

In FIFA 15 when you've got 3 hours left on deadline day and you get a huge offer out of nowhere for your star striker, this is generally what happens

I dunno what to think about United. I don't think it'll work out for LvG, though it's tough to see them missing out on the top 4 completely; but I can definitely see him establishing a young core there for his successor to build on and get them back to what thye once were.

They're spending insane amounts, but they're getting some excellent talents amongst the mess. I can see some of those kids; Martial (19), Depay (21), Shaw (20), Januzaj (20) - if BVB don't keep him, and any academy kids I haven't heard of yet who LvG will introduce to the first team like he did for so many of Bayern's WC winners + Alaba; and some of the younger vets; Herrera (26), Schneiderlin (25), Blind (25), Darmian (25) and Mata? (27, if he ages well as their Ribery?); being big pieces for the next coach to build a really impressive team around like Bayern were able to do. There will have to be further additions, but Depay and Martial are the kinds of talents who will be monumental for the next manager if United do turn it around. Something along the lines of;

Depay - Martial - (Januzaj/Mata)*
(Januzaj/Mata)*
Herrera* - Schneiderlin*
Blind/Schneiderlin
Shaw - Blind/Smalling/Jones/Rojo* - NewGuy - Darmian

*or a future buy. Januzaj/Mata/Replacement either at the 10 or RW.

Could be the start of something really excellent if they can keep adding good pieces amidst the muck that has been their transfer dealings since stealing RvP.

It's still a hilarious sum that they've spent, but I won't be shocked if LVG leaves his successor a team with a bright future like he did for Jupp in Bavaria.

I agree that they should've paid up, but Lacazette would've cost over 45M pounds. Still a fee they should've paid, but a notch above the one you mentioned.

Don't agree with them having defensive depth at this point since Chambers hasn't looked ready to start at CB for them in my limited viewings, and Per is a liability. I am a big fan Koscielny's though, Bellerin looks like he's a stud in the making, Gibbs is good when healthy and both Gabe & Chambers both ahve good potential. But I think they are missing a second near-Kos level CB so that Per isn't the only thing keeping the kids from having to be relied on regularly.

Both Kondogbia and Lars are yet more box to boxers, but Witsel, Krychowiak and Carvahlo were there to be had this window and would've fit Arsenal's hole at the 6 beautifully.

If they had shelled out for Lacazette, Witsel and Garay that team could contend for serious silverware, especially if they also swapped at least one of Walcott/Welbeck/Giroud out for someone like Son/Mehmedi/Kruse. Which would've been a massive summer, but is well within the warchest Arsenal keep claiming to be prepared to spend.

Barring a disastarous season, Man United's next coach will be Ryan Giggs. And that will be in a year or two.

When was the last time Wenger sold high?

Van Persie? Even that wasn't really a "sell high" situation considering he was considered the best player in the league at that time.

the buy low and sell high method doesn't work anymore too unless you're scouting in the south american slums lol. English teams can't get work permits for those players usually. Wenger was good at it but now everyone's scouting networks are just too good.

Can't see Van Gaal lasting the season but if the next manager is Giggs then maybe the Manure dynasty is at an end.

New scouting seems to be United's biggest need at the moment.
