Haha IronChef I'm with you 100% on Bartley. I'm not sure anyone knows why we sold him, although I've seen speculation that the reason was that Wenger had an unhealthy Squillaci-Djourou CB pairing fetish at the time...

bartley wanted to be guaranteed first team action im guessing and wenger couldnt do that so he asked out , who knows.

First person we're linked to for this summer is jovetic , would be great he's different from what we have now and would add some quality to the side. hope we can get a striker , a DM , a centreback , a right back if sagna leaves , and a quality keeper to challenge wojiciech.

glad arshavin and squilacci's contracts are running out but hope we finally get rid of guys like park , bendtner , denilson , dgorou ,chamakh and just sell all the dead wood bring in quality replacements and promote some guys from the youth team and give them some run.

Also been linked to Etienne Capoue. Apparently we tried for hi in January but they weren't willing to sell. Hopefully we can get him in the summer.

Haven't heard any updates on the injuries from the friendlies yet. Koscielny or Ramsey. Vermaelan should be back for Sunderland.

Petit would be better.

Bergkamp seems to make the most sense to me. Is Petit managing somewhere?

Looks like Santos is off to Gremio, good riddance.

Maybe keep Sagna at CB, he was excellent at Sunderland. Hopefully that performance will help get his form back. Monreal looks very solid thus far, too. Good win, held on and ground it out. Ramsey continues his string of good performances.

Moved past Everton into 5th. Hopefully we can keep it going.

with vermaelen's ankle being questionable right now(might need surgery) sagna as a centreback looks like a decent fallback after his performance there vs sunderland. Just need to take care of our business and hope chelsea/spurs drop points now.

Looks like Koscielny will be back soon, probably see Miquel against Blackburn in the cup.

Good chance we see Sagna at LB against Munich, better option there than Vermaelan, I think.

Curious to see what kind of side we'll put out today. I'd probably go with:

-----------Walcott---------
Podolski--Wilshere---Cazorla
----Diaby/Ramsey----Arteta
Sagna--Vermaelan--Mert---Jenks
-----Szczesney

The defense depends on the health of Koscielny. If he's fit it could be Verm-Kos-Mert-Sagna, or could end up as Coq-Verm-Mert-Sagna.

I hope we go with Walcott up front, his pace should cause Dante and Van Buyten some problems. He did well against Dante in the Brazil game.

Worth noting our last four home legs of the round of 16 we've beaten Roma 1-0, Barca 2-1, Milan 3-0, and Porto 5-0. Hopefully we can keep that streak alive.

This is a game when it would be reaaaal good if Diaby was able to show why Wenger has put faith in him despite all these injuries. Fact is if Diaby, Wilshere and Arteta all play at a good standard, we can seize the initiative in midfield and see how they play when thrown out of their comfort zone of having 65 odd percent possession.

we're going to need the midfield trio to dominate today to stand any chance , and walcott and the other wide forwards are going to have to be clinical infront of net

Diaby is probably my pick, but Ramsey has played well of late and may be in better form than Diaby.

Really wish Gibbs was healthy for this game.

Also, Dani Alves has officially kicked off the Jack to Barca rumour mill with comments. He should keep his mouth shut

“Wilshere is a great player who we have met playing against Arsenal and without doubt he can reach the height of the players we have here at Barcelona like Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta.

“He has a lot of quality and a great personality. If I was given the chance to choose, he is a player that I would sign for Barcelona.”

He sure did, basically said Jack would only play in Barcas reserves. Jack proved he belonged in that game though, he was at least as good as Xavi, Iniesta, and Fabregas.

Looks like it's going to be Ramsey over Diaby
