Re: Transfer Thread 2022/23
It's been so quiet, like I said most players/agents are now going on holidays for the next couple weeks and International football is starting from tonight so transfer talk will be a bit scarce.
Some bits I've heard:
Aston Villa have enquired about Richarlison (i really dont want us to sign him, decentish player but he'll cost a lot)
I said a few pages back that Juve and Pogba have a mutual interest of a reunion, this is potentially still on the cards
Douglas Luiz is liked by Roma and have been quoted £25 - £30 mill.
West Ham are closing in on Rennes' Nayef Aguerd
Not transfer related but Steven Gerrard wants Xabi Alonso as his number 2 at Villa
Everton and Newcastle have called Man City for Zinchenko
Tottenham are making Bastoni and Gvardiol their priority signings
Man Utd are loving the Dutch players - Timber is likely to happen, De Jong needs some convincing but the talks have started. The problem is champions league football
Nathan Ake is available (whoever gets him will be laughing he's very underrated)
Aaron Hickey is loved by Arsenal and Aston Villa - Arsenal are more likely, Villa don't want to spend big on another LB that will be more of a squad player than a starter. - Villa will try to secure Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht
HIF - it's hard to find out right now who the other teams that want Tielemans as of now

Yeah, I question going after players in their prime ages from big clubs. Man U doesn't make sense for them. Kids looking to write their ticket by achieving success with more minutes that they are already getting or older dudes makes more sense to me.

Re: Transfer Thread 2022/23
Within Ajax there is growing believe that Timber will sign an upgraded extension and stay at least one more season. With the WC this year he knows he has to play and at Ajax he's pretty much certain of that.
I hope he stays. He's the best Dutch central defender behind van Dijk. He is true class.

Timber is so so good. Lisandro Martinez is class as well.
Neither can go to Man U. Sorry.

Re: Transfer Thread 2022/23
I'll add some rumours:
Noa Lang (Club Bruges) is liked by AC Milan and Leeds.
Atalanta has put in a bid of 30M for De Ketelaere (Club Bruges).
Apparently Bayern is interested in Lukaku if Lewandowski leaves, Barcelona would go for him if Lewandowski deal doesn't go.
AC Milan keeps an eye on Lingard.
PSV is interested in Van Crombrugge (Anderlecht)
Leverkussen want Ito (Genk)
Alderweirld is on his way to Antwerp.
Gnonto (FC Zurich) could go to Anderlecht.
Asensio has been offered to Man Utd.
Spurs want Soucek.
Bissouma to AS Roma is in the works.

Seems like some smoke behind Lukaku to Bayern or Barça. Either way we need to cut our losses to ship him off for really anything you can.
Found this funny. He is finished with the premier league.

Leicester have been after him for a while. I guess the failure to make Europe may have put a spoke into that.

Re: Transfer Thread 2022/23
Ajax apparently made an offer for Bergwijn (Tottenham) and want to sign him for 5 years.
They are also rumoured to be interested in Koopmeiners (Atalanta).
And they are trying to get Brobbey from Leipzig, but RBL is asking for 15 million euros.

Re: Transfer Thread 2022/23
^^^Good luck with all that. I don't think any Europa league favorite or better level club buys Lukaku unless at a deep discount (eg 15M or less). Bayern can bet on False 9 Mane and Barca has Auba and Depay who are all probably better players currently. Also it's a WC year so club seasons will peak later and probably reduce what happens in this window among the known continental players.
Historic Chelsea wouldn't have considered doing that especially since they paid 100M for him, but fortunately for Lukaku club management has changed. Even so I think the lowest price they would set is something like 54M. I think it's more likely Lukaku makes a deal in the winter window after the WC.
I feel your pain though. Madrid has similar anchors in Jovic and Hazard to find a way to lose. Let's hope there are bigger suckers out there than the incumbent clubs. I think Inter Miami or a return to Everton can facilitate a return to West Bromelu levels.
Also a good moment to reflect on the price bubble. 12 years ago, 100+M would have bought you a BdO winner who had previously won a CL and/or WC. 7 years ago it would have bought a player who won a PFA player of a the season and would go on to put 3 MOM performances in 2 CL and 1 cdr cup finals and help a club win la liga 2x. Last year it paid for Lukaku and Grealish, who may be midtable wankers who don't even deserve to be in the starting lineup for their clubs.

Calciomercato is one of the least reliable sources for transfer news.
I'd rate it at less than a 1% chance Spurs were interested in signing Lukaku. It makes absolutely no sense.

The ownership has just done a complete swap and Abramovich's last deed was relieving the team of all debt, essentially they're starting again on a clean slate, and selling Lukaku for even 30m's is taking a profit on that investment going forward and more money in the bank for Boehly & co to play around with.
It's about swallowing your pride and doing a deal for the sake of team cohesion.
I can see where this is going though. Lukaku will not be returning to Chelsea next season. He's forcing his way out from the shadows like how he did to Inter last summer. The quotes are getting really bad and he and Tuchel seem completely finished with each other.
I think his heart is set on returning to Inter at the moment, but they're broke. Worst case, but a loan deal is looking likely. I'd say Inter are his most likely destination for '22/'23 with Bayern in second. No other team really makes sense. Conte is trying to recreate his Scudetto team, but with the whale sized flopping that took place at Man U and then Chelsea, I can't see Lukaku ever returning to the Prem again. He was a hero at Inter just a calendar year ago.
Very interested in seeing what kind of deal can get done.

Re: Transfer Thread 2022/23
The problem is Lukaku has been a bit trigger happy with the moves and he's had 'continental' success only at Inter, in a league which doesn't look top tier currently especially in the profile of their forwards. From a financial POV, it doesn't make sense for Inter to buy Lukaku either since his league rationale recoups 3m/yr at best and continentally they haven't looked like regular contenders for either the CL or Europa. A repurchase would at min would cost them 5x that. Would Everton, Arsenal, Newcastle consider him? Lukaku may find that Chelsea is the highest tier club he can access now. It's a pretty parallel situation to Morata, who also was a Chelsea player for a while, but has better options because he didn't move to as many clubs and managed to maintain a reputation as at least a rotation level player in all of them aside from Chelsea.

I'm not really following your speculation. What we know is that he's forcing his way out and the player doesn't want to return - nor does the manager rate him. I think it'll be a long game of posturing back and forth between Inter and Chelsea over Lukaku for the next month or so, but they'll eventually come to some sort of agreement. A loan looking the most likely.
Possibly a player swap with cash added for Lautaro or Bastoni.
