Good for the team on the CL victory! Pretty tame game compared to a few CL matches this season, but a real showing of our defensive strength. It was just good to see the guys hoist something, after the last couple seasons we've had. Props to Tot....they are a good squad, but I think it was more just that Liv ended the season with hardware.

So good on Klopp! Good on the squad. Very happy they get to end it all on stage hoisting a major trophy.

I hope this does 2 things: A) Guys like Salah, Mane, VVD, and Alison stick around, if folks come inquiring. B) Maybe this bumps us up a notch or two in the eyes of some players??

This would be the best part of yesterday for me.....We are RIGHT there on wining the prem. Little more depth...little more talent in a position or two, and we should be able to get across the finish next season first.

What would people think if we resigned Coutinho? Would be funny getting him back for like a third of the transfer fee. Wonder if he could swallow his pride and show his face around the locker-room? I suppose most players understand the allure of signing with Barca. I doubt too many guys would hate on him. Although.....I wasn't there, so I don't know how bad he got at the end. Maybe he was a jerk?

I feel like we're way way better defensively now....but I think we could prob get him back in there without it hurting that end too much. He was quite an orchestrator offensively for us.

I just don't see it happening.

Honestly, I just feel bad for the guy. He went to Barcelona, so that he could win the CL.

The Club's Chairman spoke on Coutinho recently.

"I would just point to the story of Philippe Coutinho," Werner told the ECHO.

"I have only good things to say about Philippe. But I think he left Liverpool because he wanted to play for one of the two big Spanish clubs.

"We tried to convince him that we had the club moving in the right direction and that he could experience big Champions League occasions by staying at Liverpool.

"I think he probably regrets his decision."

Coutinho needed to be sold to get LFC where they are now. They used that money to get Van Dijk with still a significant amount left over.

One of the biggest transfer fleeces in history, imo.

Yeah...I feel a little bad for him too. As you and the other poster pointed out: We got a king's ransom for him. I thought we had VVD pegged from the winter transfer window, or something like that? It's shady (I drink too much) but I thought we already had him signed, or at least agreed to terms. Maybe that was someone else?

Either way.....we got alot for him. And no doubt there was that extra satisfaction watching him walk off Anfield a couple weeks back. I suppose it's the balance: The Barca's and Chelsea's get to grab whoever they want.....but teams get to stick it to them with these crazy transfer fee's. And I suppose you can say the same of us.....just on a level lower. We pay stupid fee's ourselves from time to time, and we get the occasional flop.

I can't even begin to spell it, so I'll just write it phonetically....but Gerrard Houl-e-ay essentially lost his job signing all those Senengalese players after their good world cup and super inflated prices.

But I'd be pretty happy if we got Coutinho back (assuming the players were cool with it) but only for like 30-40 mil. Doubt it'll happen. I doubt he'd be willing to come back - tail between his legs.....and I doubt 35ish mil will get the deal done.

I wish him luck. Same with Sturridge. I'm sorry it never really worked out. Considering how hot Sturridge could get, I think it was pretty good on him not to freak out with the lack of playing time. Yes.....most of it was his injuries...but Strikers never seem to look at it that way, do they? I may have missed an article or two out there...but I feel Sturridge dealt with his benching with pretty good class. Came in and played when given the time.

I forgot we even had Moreno....so either he was injured badly, or he's been quiet as well. Both are good players, and should be playing.

Yes, but probably not for long.

I liked him, but I can't say I'll miss him. Hard to miss someone who was never there! Solid piece for the start of our build, but looks like we've moved on past him at this point.
