One had to go with Eto'o coming in, and there were more teams interested in Lukaku than Ba. Loan fee from Everton is also supposed to be significant.

He wouldn't have loaned any of the strikers to Arsenal, but that doesn't mean he had to loan Lukaku out. He could have either kept all 3, or loan Ba to a different team.

I've been arguing since last year Lukaku needs to be their #1. He's good enough to score 15-20 goals for them right now.

Yeah, we ended up loaning out or most talented guy who is also probably the cheapest. Just a bad move no matter how we try to spin it, especailly since the title and CL race will be extremely tough this yeat.

His development is more important than a few goals lost over this transition season. Imagine if he failed to impress and had to watch the games on TV instead of play in them like De Bruyne currently is. In the second half against Newcastle, he showed that he's still got a long way to go before he can become someone like Drogba. He will get more chances and be under less pressure at Everton. He may be a beast but the kid's still 20.

Most talented probably yes, our best striker? Very debatable but would probably say no.

I don't mind loaning him out as long as he gets plenty of playing time, especially for somebody like Martinez who likes to defend from the front and win possession form the opposition side of the field, something Mourinho desires from his strikers. This year should really help him develop into a more Mourinho esque type of player by improving his work rate and defending, something that was very evident in that Newcastle game.

Not British, but my Dad is from one of the former British colonies and went to college in England (although he's a freaking Spurs fan :nonono: ). I was born in the states though, so I'm definitely a Yank.
