Good game so far. Electric atmosphere. TFC and Frei especially have been good. Didn't look like there was any harm in that jump towards Koevermans. Keep it up boys!

It's supposed to be any play stoppage at ref's discretion. They won't usually delay one team's free kick for the other team to sub as it gives the subbing team an advantage.

Hmm interesting. I wonder whether a set rule would be better? Like if it goes out of bounds, you sub? It seems as if something like what you describe could give the non-subbing team the advantage if you wait too long (though I get the point of not interfering with offensive flow)

OOOH we almost scored, damn...!

Forgot how this works.. is it all about the points scored or does wins/losses also play a role?

It's a combined score of both games. It's basically like one long game in two locations.

If it's like the rest of the world's rules then away goals decide tie-breaks. So if the aggregate after 2 games is tied, the team with the most away goals wins.

Refs have been terrible in the second half. Every little call is going against TFC.

Because the ref wouldn't sub in the TFC player on the sidelines.

That's twice tonight now.

One of tfc's guys was taken out cause he was bleeding, and was ready to come back in and the refs weren't letting him on for no good reason putting tfc at a significant disadvantage as he is a defender.

Refs can't even decide who should throw the ball in...

And then he got penalized for complaining?! smh...

My God, it's like a crowd in summer Olympics!

One of many reasons why Toronto is so great - such an international city with fans from all over who love soccer so that when the MLS started here, they were for the most part knowledgeable and eager to support the home team.

Toronto looks better when they are pushing forward rather than sitting back. I don't trust their defense too much.

Seriously Toronto need to just control possession better to close out the game. Too many quick long shots and panicing under fairly light pressure. Just control the midfield.
