Round of 32 draw

Most intriguing fixtures:

Dortmund vs. Porto
Galatasaray vs. Lazio
Fiorentina vs. Spurs
Villareal vs. Napoli

Man United drew Midtjylland aka the Danish farmers and Liverpool drew Augsburg.

Shalke-Shaktar; BVB-Porto; and Leverkusen-Sporting should be really fun ties; though Schmidt is sure to **** it up like he's want to do in europe.

Will be curious to see if Augsburg can take advantage of their knowledge of Kloppo or not; wouldn't be shocked at all to see them bunker against them effectively enough to make the upset a real possibility despite the talent gap.

Brunson: So what are you paid to do?

Dortmund-Porto and Fiorentina-Tottenham are best. Schalke-Shakhtar too is good too...
didn't Fiorentina-Tott get matched up last year too?

I said it last year and they blew it, so I'll try again this year now that Benitez isn't coach: Napoli is going to win this

I'm still in disbelief that we didn't win that game let alone tie. Napoli is much better than them but yea they are the EL kings.

Sevilla just get results in europe. They didn't really deserve to advance from their meeting last year any more than BMG did, but instead of losing in the round of 16 (or was it 32?) they repeated as champions...because Sevilla-in-the-EL things.

klopp has been good against them for the most part since they were promoted in 2011 lost the one time when dortmund had hit rock bottom

That's one way of looking at it. Another is that in the season where every BuLi club had figured out how best to play against Klopp ball they were able to split with a much more talented BVB side. I'm not sure what'll happen, which is whyI'll be very interested in how that tie goes; even if it doesn't look interesting on-paper/to-most.

Valencia must still be thanking their lucky stars for that draw lol. How does a team with that much talent underperform that badly? Sitting 12th, with 3 points from their last 5 league matches, hasn't been enough to get their coach fired? With Cheryshev coming in and Alcacer set to return before the first leg they should walk through this tie, but it seems quite possible that their poor form gives Rapid the openings needed to pull of the upset. Can definitely see Valencia and one of United or Liverpool being the upsets of the round with their issues against bunkering sides + form.

Anways, with Dortmund-Porto, FIorentina-Tottenham, Villarreal-Napoli, Shakhtar-Schalke, Sporting-Leverkusen, Anderlecht-Olympiakos, Gala-Lazio, Marseille-Bilbao; there should be more than enough really fun/interesting ties this round where neither side would need an upset to advance.

Lloris will miss tomorrow's match. I seem to be unique in thinking that Fiorentina was better last year under Montella, but I hope they pull it off

Fiorentina: Tatarusanu; Tomovic, Gonzalo Rodriguez, Astori, Marcos Alonso; Tino Costa, Borja Valero; Blaszczykowski, Ilicic, Bernardeschi; Zarate

Fiorentina bench: Sepe, Pasqual, Badelj, Vecino, Mati Fernandez, Kalinic, Babacar

Tottenham: Vorm; Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Davies; Carroll, Mason; Eriksen, Alli, Son; Chadli

Tottenham bench: McGee, Rose, Walker, Dembele, Dier, Onomah, Kane

Ref: Zwayer (GER)

I think La Viola take this one

Yeah, I don't really like it when we play a natural midfielder/winger (Chadli/Son/N'jie) as a striker. Mason/Carroll instead of Dier/Dembele in the midfield worries me, nowhere near as physical.

It's a weird lineup, but I expected it.

Bernardeschi ate the best chance of the match. Couldn't even manage to hit the ball towards the goals. Conte is in the stands, kid...
