So it looks like Sanogo and Gonalons will be our first two signings this summer. Decent signings, but we really need to do better if we're going to be playing for trophies.

Gonalons isn't official, just a very heavy rumor right now so I'm guessing they're still negotiating price.

I hope we sign Gonalons. He's a great fit for our holding role. Exactly what we need in midfield, imo.

Sanogo is really just a boom or bust extra from what it sounds like. We won't be counting on him to play, and it's on a free. He's an extremely talented young striker though, so if he gets over his injury troubles he could be a great pick-up. Nothing to lose, really.

OK, since we were talking about this a couple of weeks ago, I did some digging around on google. The players out of contract this summer are Squillaci, Arshavin, Denilson, and Fabianski. Looks like the only guys we really have to worry about selling or loaning out now are Djourou, Bendtner, Chamakh, Santos and Park. If Sagna refuses an extension, I hope we sell him too.

Shouldn't be hard to move on Santos, or Djourou, apparently both loan teams are interested in signing them. Bendtner could be tricky because he still thinks he's the greatest striker to have ever lived, and won't go to a team that would actually be interested in him. Park sucks, but maybe someone will buy him. Chamakh looks like he's heading back to Bordeaux.

I'd be fine keeping Sagna for one year and letting his contract run out while we bed in Jenkinson as the number one. Unless we got a great offer for him, which I doubt since he's 30, coming off a sub-par season, and two broken legs. Plus, I hope he finds form again and he could still be good for us. Or at least good back-up for Jenks.

I wonder who gets the captaincy on sunday since Vermaelan is still benched and Arteta will be out. Probably Sagna, or Koscielny. But I kinda hope Jack gets it.

My guess is that Rosicky gets the armband if he's in the lineup.

Yeah, could be Rosicky. I dunno, maybe it's cause he looks like KD Lang but he just doesn't seem like captain material to me. I'd probably prefer Sagna, or Kos.

It's gonna change for next year, I imagine. Can't keep our Vermaelan as captain when he's not first-choice.

Wonder if we'll drop Podolski or Rosicky. I think Giroud will come back in up front, so one of them is off. Poldi got two last game but still doesn't like great up front, and Rosicky isn't as effective playing next to Cazorla. It's probably gonna be:

---Chesney-----
Sagna---Mert-Kos--Gibbs
--Ramsey--Wilshere---
-Walcott--Cazorla--Poldi
--------Giroud------

Unless he leaves Jack out and drops Rosicky back, I dunno

Coquelin looks like he's off, too. We should have loaned him out this year, he needs games. Word is he's heading to Shalke, but I think returning to France would be more likely. I imagine we'll stick a buy-back clause in any deal. I still like him as a player, but he's not gonna get the games he needs here.

I'm thinking it will be a loan with Coquelin next season. Same with Frimpong. I'd like to see both of them as future long-term squad players for us but they need more time to develop.

Our chances of getting Jovetic got better today. Not only did we secure our CL spot next year, but Fiorentina missed getting the last CL spot from Serie A.

Hope we can get him, or Higuain. We need to sign a couple class players this season.

26 points out of a possible 30 for our last 10 games, and most points in the league since January. Good finish to the season made up for a horrendous start. Maybe next year we can skip the crap start since we aren't losing any key players.

Thank god that chance fell to Koscielny and not Giroud!

He got the winner in the final game last year against West Brom that secured third, too. What a man

I'm hoping we end up with Jovetic, Gonalons, and Williams. I'm not picky about who we bring in as a backup keeper, as long as they're older than 35 and have previous experience starting in a top 5 league. Sanogo will be a nice reserve striker to loan out for a couple seasons.

love gary neville as a pundit. He's a smart guy and he's right , I hope arsenal see now as the time to pounce

Dream summer for me is Jovetic/higuain , Villa(if price is low which is being reported) , Gonalons , Sagna extension , get rid of as much dead wood , and a solid keeper so we can have stiff competition for the #1 spot in net.

just read that per and bosscielny are undefeated in their last 18 PL games as a starting pair... wow

we always complain about our defense but we have the 2nd best defensive record in the PL and the best away defensive record in the PL. Just gotta cut out the stupid errors and we can win a couple more points here and there.
