wow u must of been so mad to wait this long to do that lmao.

Don't give people like this the time of day. Italian soccer history speaks for itself. That English commentator today was disgusting. Never mentioned the bite once after initially seeing it like it never happened. England never wins anything, but they have the superiority complex. Very delusional. The world cup they did win has a huge asterisk next to it.

I understand the handball incident thats just doing anything to win , but I just can't see why he bites... it makes no sense lol

speaking of the ref i heard hes quite a hardass in the Mexican league, which is why he was so quick to show red to Marchisio. not saying it wasnt a red but i felt it was a tad harsh at the time, many refs would not have shown red in that situation.

I <3 Luis Suarez, this is a sport on some level and nobody is more competitive than Luis Suarez, dude's Jordan-esque in how he won't let being a massive douchebag stop him from helping his team win and since unlike Jordan he hasn't spoiled my childhood by constantly **** over the knicks, I gotta <3 him.

Anyway, I'm curious whether the outrage in england gets Woy fired. He's not the only problem but he's certainly a big part of it and a perfect symbol for the type of archaic thinking that's trapped england in this endless limbo that only time-travel seems capable of correcting.

A little of option A, a little of option B.

But to be cereal, I did laugh my ass off when he eliminated Ghana with his fist in 2010 and then again when he knocked off the italians this go around with his teeth.

i wouldnt say Suarez knocked us out, he was pretty useless today. his team was winning when he did it too, the bite had absolutely no impact on the game (actually it wouldve if the ref had seen it, wouldve been 10 v 10.). i dont see how biting someone makes Suarez competitive, it mostly just makes him an insane ****.

no need to comment on the bite, or ppl defending it. absolutely mind-boggling that this could happen again. i do think that Rasho (I think) is right in that ppl were coming around after Ivanovic.

he'll obviously be rubbed out of the tournament. would be an awful shame for Liverpool (and the EPL) to lose him for the whole year, but i can't really see any other alternative for FIFA and/or the FA.

anyone knows what the procedure is from here? they'll obviously have to make a decision on the WC pretty soon. will that decision also be in the form of a world wide ban?

considering FIFA is investigating it i wouldnt be surprised if Chiellini gets a fine for "placing his shoulder in an unsafe position around another players mouth"

More a pain in the ass. It's the same ref who pulled out two yellow cards at the same time to book two different players. He said if he had a good World Cup, he was going to retire. Guess we're getting more Chiquimarco in Liga MX.

i also want to say that i REALLY REALLY hope Prandelli doesnt resign. despite some questionable decisions recently hes still a top quality manager and his style of football is suited to the modern game unlike some of the old timers being mentioned to replace him.

considering the alternatives i will be pretty sad if we lose Prandelli.

You're right of course, but it's a better story my way. I love Suarez because so many of his issues come from the same competitiveness-taken-to-the-absurd that makes him great and made other douchers like Matthaus and Effenberg great. It also makes him a great villain and this game needs great villains, this is why I wanted Bayern to go after him instead of Lewy, well that and an outside hope that no one other than Bayern would want Lewy enough to pry him out of Dortmund before they could raise their wages, but mostly the great Villains adding the greatest individual villain.

That's why his hand-of-god moment against Ghana earned him so many points for me, that was a perfect encapsulation of overwhelming drive to win rising above the rules of the game or polite society, and that to me makes the story around the game more interesting because we praise these athletes for "doing whatever it takes" until doing whatever it takes crosses some line that everyone sets for themselves, for some it's steroids, for others it's blatant cheating like Suarez' ghana save, and for even others it's using a reputation for insanity to wrestle control of his career from the club who've just been dragged back into relevance by him. Either way Luis Suarez tells us a lot about people and I find him and the hub-bub around him to be often very facinating, although admittedly I do make sure to limit my doses of the kind of idiotspeak you get from sports-radio/shows.

So cgf doesn't love Luis Suarez, he just loves the abstract idea of a plot thickening dramatic villain that adds to the narrative of the game. Suarez will be known by football supporters long after we're all gone!

i was wrong too, Suarez bit him before the goal. so it wouldve had a huge impact on the game if it had been called since i dont see Uruguay coming back from that.

ugh... just **** Luis Suarez.

I'm a sucker for villains, thus the only "good guys" on game of thrones I like being Ser Davos the Onion Knight and Vaerys the Spider.

But you're right about that last part, Suarez is a great player on the pitch who finished one of the best individual seasons we've seen in quite a while, but he's still an even larger and greater character in the game and his legacy will be even greater than what his exceptional play would warrant because of that. It just makes the whole thing more fun.

...starting to understand why I became a Knicks fan who adored Ewing and later Sprewell, despite growing up between Chicago and Berlin?

I had to listen to that one on the radio while being productive so I wasn't too sure, but I thought it had riled Chielini up which contributed to the eventual uruguayan goal, or at least that's how the bargirl explained it to me today, but I'm not always skeptical when americans start talking about the game during the WC so I didn't check up on it.
