Portugal's -4 GD really puts them in a bind. The USA is going to be really unlucky if they don't go through. Ghana-Portugal draw would be perfect.

germany gonna germany...

It's actually pretty common in certain parts of Germany, because there is no history of blackface. Especially during carnival season you are going to see a lot of groups composed of african immigrants and Germans in blackface.

Very similar to zwarte Piet in the Netherlands.

It's just a different culture.

Yeah, idk much about the German side of things, but Zwarte Piet is a pretty messed up celebration imo.

Yeah let's not go around defending questionable stuff like the blackface...

If you have to explain it, it's probably racist. :p

Nah, in this case it's cultural differences. In former dutch colonies you actually have people run around in white face as Sinter Klaas.
Doubt there was any harmful intent by those Germans.

You have to consider that these people don't even know what blackface is supposed to mean. The german blackface actually started as part of an equality movement in the 1920's. No joke.

I hope that Löw watched the MEX defense. He could learn a thing or two... or three... or 39847934873...

I hope not.
If so, he'll start five centre backs while still playing Lahm in front of them...

We weren't going to score a single goal apparently. The ignorance truly is amazing.

It's funny man. All these sheeple pop up after not posting about soccer for four years and say we're getting hammered three straight games. To quote Keyshawn Johnson, C'MON MAAAAAN.

Bradley was exemplary with his passing, above average with his offensive positioning, below average with his shooting (the roller across the mouth of the goal cracked me up), poor in his defending and very poor in his defensive workrate.

He's clearly not a trequartista, which is what we seem to be playing him as, but his finishing was just pathetic. No composure, and I think that horrid miss from 8 yards out was in the first half so he shouldn't have been tired. That's the type of play you see from a central defender who's not used to thinking on his feet in the final third, not from your creative 10.

Again, Portugal looked horrid, but glad I saw some life out of Nani. The Mereiles flop was disgraceful, how long did he really hold onto his face after not getting hit there? It's bad enough he has a mohawk and played for Chelsea. I've always like Varela though, he just brings so much attacking verve when out there - albeit nothing on defense.

Playing with no striker didn't hurt us a ton, and I liked the Yedlin sub, but we're just missing something in the attacking third. Thank god Jermaine stepped up, because we really seemed toothless in midfield on offense. That Zusi 'pass' to Dempsey for his goal was really a shot (buy a right foot man!), that's how bad our midfielders are in front of the goal. Which I guess was to be expected, and is the main area I expect improvement in by the next world cup (Green, Gatt and Zelalem if he declares could look good out there). Americans other than Clint Dempsey historically have had no flair about them - which is weird when you look at our other sports. Blinding pace is needed on the wings as well, and I have high hopes for Josh Gatt in that area.

U.S. has to and will beat Ghana. They'll draw Portugal because Portugal will be overrated like they always are.

Hey! Looks like we could well have 3 out of 4 teams from CONCACAF in the final 16 - Mexico, Costa Rica, USA - maybe our qualification group is not so easy after all

Was waiting for this  Did not think a team that made Semis at the Euros two years ago would be this bad but I'll take that L.

Still think that deeper in the tournament the Europeans would be more dangerous opponents for Germany and Brazil though.

According to this, the USA has odds of about 76% of getting to the next round:

Lahm will keep playing in midfield :curse:

Flick says that he gives us a "good structure" in midfield and will keep playing there... :nonono:

So all the USA has to do is pressure two to three times and they'll have at least two chances on goal.

Our coaching team is doing anything they can to get us eliminated as early as possible. At this point I can only laugh about them. I dont even think the WC title would change my opinion. :D

Jermanie Jones does he not speak English? Sick goal from him the other day, but I was disappointed to see them sub his speech. Or does he just have a strong accent? Couldnt hear.

I'm really hoping for Ghana & US to advance

I'm a huge Germany Fan and USA (by default since i live here) lol but...... this is gonna be interesting situation...

- Will Klinsmann call his Germany connects in hopes to draw? If so, will Germany agree?
- Would Germany rather have Ghana/Portugal in the round of 16?
- Will Ghana/Portugal draw?

Hopefully, Germany/USA advance... but i'm pretty sure Germany hates the US lol...

Löw is doing everything to give you guys a good shot at beating us.

Höwedes will offer Bedoya or whoever plays RW any time needed and also countless tries to cross into the penalty area. :nonono:

There's no such thing as an agreement for a draw.

The only thing that could happen is that both teams take their foot from the paddle a bit if it's the 80th minute and it's still a draw.
But even then I expect both of them, while taking a little less risk, to still go for the win.

That 2nd question is pointless. The winner gets the 2nd place team of Group H and the 2nd place team will face Belgium.
This alone will tell you that none of the teams would agree to a draw, cause it would mean that the US would openly go for a game against the talented Belgian side.

I doubt there'll be a draw in that Portugal vs Ghana match, as both need to win. The only thing that could help is if Portugal wins and it's close, given that they're still minus four on the goal difference.

Huge news: Sky Deutschland has fired Cathy Fischer, the gf of Mats Hummels, from its "Glamourous German WAGs" segments. Forget Müller's skull, Lahm's position or Boateng's leg, this decision will truly make or break the German WC campaign. I will miss the deep insight on Starbuck's in Brazil, Lena Gercke's hips or CR7's waxings.
