I'd play Cassano behind Di Natale and Balo. Take out the useless one

Glen Johnson's lack of positional sense is atrocious. He's single handedly throwing a spanner in England's defense.

Moving DeRossi into midfield pretty much took away hope from England getting any possession though.

He's had a good half. Usually you'd be correct but this might be his best game in the italian shirt, he's involved and has made a number of clever plays. If he could play like this for them always, he'd be their second best midfielder.

I simply don't see it.

I mean, I don't watch ManCity games, but what I've seen so far doesn't impress me. His actions are either completely braindead (the run vs Spain after the Pique mistake) or nothing really special. Good, but not great. With all the craziness, you get a net negative, me thinks...

I agree. I don't get what's the big deal with this guy. He is a good player but he should not be playing over Di Natale. No way in hell

He needs time on the ball to create something. He never gets that with England.

i am with you there, Balotelli might be more talented but he looks out of place in this Italian team. lack of finishing doesn't help either.

balotelli creates a lot of his chances pretty much all on his own with his strength and awareness. I don't mind he's missed a few shots, he's playing pretty well.

Have you seen the passes Montolivo was making?? He is playing great

I just lol @ Pirlo's brilliance, he hardly runs out there, but anytime he gets the ball, a great chance happens, it's just that the bad Balotelli showed up today.

It's not that I think that Mario is useless, I simply don't think he should be playing over the more proven and experienced Di Natale in an elimination match of a major tournament. I think Mario has shown flashes of potential, but I don't see the greatness that he gets linked with. His decision making is simply too weak for me to trust this guy.

Now watch him score and shut me up lol

I believe in Balo, I hope he plays the whole 2nd half. He's been active and only had 1 bad miss.

Italy has spared the life of England. This can cost them dear.
