Four months and 9 games... Meh.

In total, that's around 24 matches.

They were debating something along the lines of a 2 year ban, weren't they? Punishment could have certainly been much worse.

Jordan never fully understood basketball. He had the lowest basketball IQ of any NBA "superstar" in history.

What did Cantona get for the kung fu kick at Palace, 9 months? And Rio for not taking a drug test?

These suspensions don't seem terribly consistent but if you can't stop **** biting people you get what you get

Suarez banned 4 months for a small bite.

Sakho who almost destroyed the head of someone goes unpunished. Platini will make sure, book it.

Well, he was suspended at the start of last season, and it hasn't prevented him from being the POY in the Premier League, with most goals and assists in the league ...

He never bit anybody with the NT. The first 2 shouldn't count when making the suspension. He tried, though in the confed cup. Chiellini, too.

UEFA and FA is part of fifa and fifa has jurisdiction over them. doesn't matter if he did it in nt or not.

Liverpool playing Southampton, Citeh, Tottenham their first three games in the EPL, Everton in there early.

Sturridge had better be on or they could be in an early hole. Ricky Lambert ftw

Surely it matters. Completely different competitions. But nevermind. Actually, I don't care. It was to be expected he is gone for the tourney. What happens with Liverpool I don't care much about.

Not according to the FIFA file. It said he broke two articles, his previous sanctions were not mentioned anywhere.

Fischer declined to name the committee members who would decide the case, with the exception of Sulser, the chairman, or even say how many would be part of the discussions. But she emphasized that the disciplinary committee would determine the scope of its investigation and the duration of any potential penalties. That means it can take into account two previous biting incidents in Suárez’s club career, any evidence the Italians choose to present and video of the incident, which the match referee apparently did not see.

FIFA probably just wanted to make an example that they don't tolerate this behaviour on the pitch as the whole world watches these games.

Last season he was suspended until September 29th ... At the time of his return, we were at the top of the league table ... The best thing about this entire incident (and the suspension) is that Real Madrid and Barcelona will not come after him now ... And we are perfectly fine with that ...
