who knows. I can see it going either way for the September window...either an interim coach or they'll have made their selection by then.

Crocker had to make an attempt, at the very least, to appease the fans.

What I take away most, though, is it shows ambition -- something that hasn't been seen in some time.

Maybe he can be the one to finally unlock Pulisic's full potential by playing him at center back...

Yeah I wonder. He's a name but I don't know if he has experience with international football.

You wonder about these managers who come from the top leagues in Europe. They have the rep but they don't get to manage teams which draw from the best talent pool in the world.

I think it's a great move.
Will he "succeed"?
Everyone in America thinks succeeding = making it to the WC semi final. With the squad we are bringing, despite it being arguably the strongest U.S. squad ever, in what world are we going to beat a team like the Netherlands, France, Argentina, Germany, etc... in a quarterfinal match? We must advance out of our group and hope we get lucky enough to play a team that we can actually beat in the first two knockout matches.

I think as host, getting out of group is the minimum expected.

Which team got the furthest, the 2002? Matching that would be nice as host and with the greater talent on the team now than back then.

Crappy couple of matches, but the September window often produces crap performances. We'll see what the Poch effect does starting next break

Mexico beat us for the first time since 2019... predictable result considering the absences in the US lineup
