First 70 minutes of yesterdays game - worst i've seen this season along with the Watford game . Last 20 saved the day.

Just hope Curtis gets some more minutes. Origi can't get more chances now, more perspective in using Curtis and Minamino - and they can't perform any worse than Origi have this season.

Yeah, I'm really glad I just stayed focused on the prize I wanted: The Prem.

I know there were starting to be some lofty hopes among the Liverpool faithful, and I'm not saying it was unwarranted. We seemed to have that perfect blend of skill/talent and good luck this year. But I think we can consider that glass of mojo officially shattered. Thank god we'd built up an insurmountable lead.

Now IMO, Klopp needs to sit down and really make some hard decisions on this roster. I think we are far too reliant on our starting 11, with maybe 1 or 2 acceptable subs, and thats about it. We need to get a couple of real quality guys at defense / Midfield not only to upgrade....but to add some depth.

Remember....the wheels were starting to come off the wagon BEFORE the break. I think it's semi-fair to point to this crazy end of the season, and the fact that we had the title in the bag, and you can 'brush it off' all you want. But holes were starting to show before that. We'd be fools to think we can just march back out there next season with an unchanged roster, and do this again.

Super glad we got the Prem. It was ALL I WANTED. But it's hard to not look at where we were 8-10 games ago, and look at where we are now, and not feel like we let an opportunity slip through our fingers. This team coulda some some historic, and impressive stuff, and instead I'd almost say they 'mailed it in'. I'm hoping this COVID holds the lion's share of blame for the limp finish. I really hope. But I'm not so sure.

Big day tomorrow with Hendo lifting the trophy. Just hope we don't lose once again and end the season without totally collapsing. I fear for next season, but that's an issue for next months. These next couple of days are celebrating the title over again.

Just beautiful. Waited a long time. Thought back to some great squads I've watched over the last 20-some years who got so close, but never made it. Such a shame Stevie G never got to lift 'er.

Wow....what a great day for the boys! Awesome stuff. Grats to them all....they deserved it!

Agree. There's work to be done.....but let's take a week and party it up!!!

The disappointing finish aside, we did win the CL, and the Super League as well. This was an amazing year. And let's not forget....we were 2nd in CL the year before, and ONE GOD DAMN point from winning the league (I guess we'd have needed 2 points, cause of goal difference, but lets not split hairs here)....so we can't be called a 'fluke'. This is a solid team that grinded for a couples years, and finally reached the top.

Super awesome. Gonna just enjoy this moment like a glass of fine wine.

I wanna see one of the players pull a Rasheed Wallace, and have a champions belt made...and bring it with him to every post game interview the following season. That was at the expense of my beloved Lakers....but man was that awesome.

Hey man....your the effin Champ! You get to do whatever you want. Someone needs to rock it the entire next season.

Well done. Agreed that you are going to need a few upgrades for next season when the prem title should be more competitive but you are in the position to buy anyone you want as long as you are willing to spend the money.
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

And FSG doesn't seem willing to spend money. They backed of from Werner due to financial reasons. For them it is a business.

That's a worry for you then. Still winning is the business in football.

Exactly. And IMO Werner was a no-brainer - both financially and as a need in the team. I am jealous of Chelsea, Abramovich knows this is their opportunity. Werner would've chosen Liverpool and i can imagine more teams would battle for Havertz, if it wasn't for the current situation. Chelsea are 'stealing' them, because they have an owner willing to spend his own money investing in the club - with other owners being more hesitant during these times.

League is back in business in about 50 days. Pretty crazy. Not much time to celebrate.

Didn't we sign someone last year, who's supposed to come this season?? I hope Klopp is able to sign 2-3 new guys, and hopefully we bring in at least 1 legit, top level player who deserves/gets real minutes. We need some guys to shoulder some of the load this go 'round.

In any event....looking forward to defending the title! God....still feels weird.

The name most rumored is Thiago a CM from Bayern. He would be a great get. But the Clubs are still somewhat far apart in negotiations.

It also appears Lovren is on his way out. No reservations from me.

I agree that Thiago would be a great signing. 30m pounds top though - 29 years old, one year left on his contract with the entend to leave and a long injury history.

Who are we selling?

Clyne and Lallana are gone, saving some salary there.
Lovren sold for 11m£
Karius ~5m£
Shaqiri ~15-20m£
Ojo ~3m£

Feel like these four are likely getting sold. Then we have Wilson and Grujic. I don't believe Wilson has a future at the club and his value have dropped during his loan at Bournemouth. As for Grujic i feel like it's now or never. Either give him the chance next season or sell him. Counting as we sell both of them:
Wilson ~15m£
Grujic ~15-20m£

All sales then adds up to ~65-75m£

Wijnaldum is also interesting. His contract ends after next season. He turns 30 in a few month and instead of giving him a 4 year contract worth a heck lot of money, i'm not against a sale if he can bring in ~35-40m£. We are at a point were most of the players are topping and i'd like to see some renewal. Wijnaldum are class, but a Thiago move wouldn't make sense if we don't skip any players - that'd take away any chance of Curtis seeing the field next season and diminish the role of Keita, Ox etc - and i'm rating Thiago a bit higher than Wijnaldum.

It's unlikely but an ideal window for me would be something like this:

Out:
Lovren
Karius
Shaqiri
Ojo
Wilson
Grujic
Wijnaldum
Lallana
Clyne

Income ~100-115m£

In:
Thiago ~25-30m£
Adama/Sarr/Saint-Maximin (1) - depending on the price-tag
Jamal Lewis ~20m£
A CB

Squad next season:

Keeper: Alisson/Adrian/Kelleher (Grabara also coming back from loan)

RB: Trent/Neco/Gomez/Milner
CB: Gomez/Matip/Fabinho - Virgil/New/Hoever
LB: Robbo/Lewis/Milner

DM: Fabinho/Hendo/Thiago/Milner
CM: Thiago/Hendo/Keita/Ox/Curtis/Milner

RW/LW: Salah + Mane - /NEW (1)/Curtis/Minamino/Ox/Origi/Brewster/Elliott
ST: Firmino/Salah/Brewster/Minamino/Origi

At natural positions:

GK: Allison, Adrian, Kelleher/Grabara

RB: Trent, Neco
CB: Virgil, Gomez, Matip, New, Hoever
LB: Robbo, Lewis

DM: Fabinho
CM: Thiago, Hendo, Keita, Ox, Curtis, Milner

RW: Salah, NEW (1) (RW or LW), Elliott
LW: Mane, NEW (1) (RW or LW)

ST: Firmino, Brewster, Minamino, Origi

Decent depth (not City-like) and also new blood and more competition to the fullbacks and the three at the top. Also alot of players who can play different positions. Think it's necessary to make some moves now in order to have any chance to succesfully defend our title. Maybe even add another offensive player - Coutinho back for a year...?
