The funniest thing about all of that is some newspapers(and guys at youtube fan channels) writing about wanting Andreas Christensen back in the summer(it's a two year loan with no option) etc.
Looking at the way Chelsea does things, the best thing that could happen to him was that move to Gladbach and it might be even good for him to do a similar thing to Thorgan Hazard, in which we signed him with Chelsea holding an option a couple years down the line.

I know that might be a bit selfish, for me to talk about that, but I'm pretty sure that younger players are(currently) way better served in being loaned or going someplace else given that Chelsea always plays more experienced guys and, in Christensens case, will certainly buy anoter expensive cb in the summer.

Masked Costa the best Costa

edit: And a lovely finish by Pedro. What a horrible sequence by Newcastle, though.

Honestly, if I was a Chelsea youth player, I would be getting out of that system as soon as I got a nice fat contract. Guys like Christensen should hope they can be sold, rather than being loaned out again or stuck on the fringes of the first team, playing behind old vets like Cahill. Musonda is probably the next really talented young player to get stuck in the loan system.

Like you said, even if Chelsea brings back Christensen after his 2-year loan, which should be a no brainer, (he counts as homegrown, fills a need and is a ball playing CB) Chelsea will no doubt sign one or two high priced CBs before then to pair with Zouma. Will he ever get a real shot at Chelsea? Will any of the talented youth get a real shot? Or will they all be stuck behind the next expensive flop.

As I type, Pedro with a beautiful goal... LOL. But seriously, what is the point of playing Pedro? He's not young. He's not part of the long-term plan. He should be sold back to a Spanish team this summer. This game is basically meaningless, at home, vs a really bad team. Why not give Kenedy, Loftus-Cheek or Traore a run? It seems to me that Guus was really only brought in to keep the senior players from revolting in the locker room during the 2nd half of the season. And that's fine, just don't pretend that you are interested in playing youth in that case.

LOL... and Chelsea scores again. This is too easy. Rest some guys for PSG, put on the youth!!!

King is back!

Good! We've already played them twice in the league. Hope he'll keep scoring and they end up taking points off our rivals (not likely).

He's only arsed when a contract's on the line. Terrific player when he can be bothered.

It's almost as if outspending the entire Bundesliga on the likes of Townsend and Jonjo **** Shelvey is not going to improve your team

Up 4-0, 15 minutes left, biggest game of the year coming in 3 days---> Guus thinking "I should probably save my last sub, just in case"

Good thinking Guus. You can never be too sure, amirite?

Who has the worse defence, Newcastle or Adam Johnson?

Tidy goal by Traore, mind.

Hey, look at that, youth can score goals also when given minutes. And amazing that a right-footed right back can make a beautiful assist with his right foot when he isn't stuck playing left back. Bring on PSG!!! #falseconfidence

But seriously, what is Newcastle doing? This is the worst I've seen a team play all season.

Poor Newcastle, their fans deserve better.

It's time to hire a internacional manager, no more english coachs please. They suck so bad.

5-0 down and Townsend is doing stepovers. You can't teach flair like that.

AND HE SCORES!

It's a tragedy when the best English manager in the game at the moment is probably Fat Sam or Eddie Howe.

Hope the 2 North East teams stay up and Norwich and Swansea go down. Nothing clubs. It's better for the Premier League as a brand to have big clubs from an area that breathes football and keeping that derby in the top flight. Much better than a club who's most famous for having a woman cook as part of their club.

Although it's good to have a Welsh club in the league but rather Cardiff than Swansea because Vincent Tan is pure box office. Swansea were a good watch under Rodgers and Laudrup but they've been pointless the last 2 years.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

Weren't you going on about Garry Monk being a great manager earlier in the season?

He's a good manager but boring and lacks that charisma that Laudrup and even Rodgers have.
