Probably depends where in China you live.

But Shanghai(where Oscar is going) and Beijing are modern cities. Dont see what Foye's problem is.

Not much interest in living my life in smog. Even in Germanys bigger cities it seems to get worse each year.

Lots of these South americans are from poor families.

In Oscar's case, his father died when he was like 2 and I think once his daughter was born, his priorities changed in life. Also, maybe his wife wanted to try China (she's Japanese descent)

I understand your point but with all due respect, I don't think he's struggling to raise his daughter on his Chelsea salary. He's on £90,000 p/w.

Valid point about his wife maybe wanting to live in Asia, sounds plausible.

Cristiano Ronaldo's agent says player rejected £256.6m bid from unnamed Chinese club who offered player annual salary of over £85m.

I dont really care what footballers earn(as long as they pay their taxes) but that's mental.

From China, they've offered €300m to Real Madrid and more than €100m per year to the player...The €300m transfer fee would have nearly tripled the record €105m price that Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba in the summer.

Ronaldo's proposed salary of €100m -- or €1,923,077 per week -- also would have blown away the €17,453,800 (€335,650 per week) he is reported to make at his current deal at Madrid.

If I'm Ronaldo I say **** it & sign anyway!

He can still get 50mil. a year there once he is completely done. No need to go there now while he can still play at a high level.

Importing foreign stars does help raise awareness of the league but the only reason anyone would want to play there right now is because of the money. They need some decent local talent to supplement them and help their game grow at grassroots level. It's not like they lack the funds or size of talent pool.

They have this rule where you can use a maximum of four foreign players on the pitch every game.

Asian players are some of the most technically gifted players in the world. There's definitely talent. They just need to invest more in coaching.

I expect the Chinese national team to slowly rise and start qualifying for World Cups eventually. They qualified once in 02 but didn't score a single goal. It's possible they might make it in 2018, the AFC isn't exactly stacked with top teams at the moment.

Looks like Morgan Schneiderlin might be leaving United this window, with bids by West Brom and Everton so far.

His United stint has been very disappointing. I feel like he has far more ability than Fellaini and yet he can't get a game, he must've done something to tick Mourinho off. At Southampton he looked like a complete DM; good decision making skills in conjunction with great tackling and passing ability. I thought he might get a second lease of life at United under Mourinho but I guess it wasn't to be.

Center Back Timothée Kolodziejczak from Sevilla to Borussia Mönchengladbach for about €7,5 mil.

Try saying that name after saying --> your starting center back for Borussia Moenchengladbach

The thing that stood out to me in his play was that he was good at breaking things up, but he was wretched at being aware of the players coming from behind to pressure the ball when he was in possession. He seemed to turn the ball over a lot. When he arrived, I thought he was going to be our DM of the future.
