Re: AW: 2015-16 German Bundesliga Discussion Thread
Huh? Dont go to games? I'm not going too often but I certainly do go. At least 5 times every season.
Personally, I dont mind Saturday or Sunday 20:30 games. If you are going to a game middle of the day basically your whole day is lost. If you go to a game in the evening you can do all your stuff in the morning/afternoon and go to the game afterwards.
Late kick-offs only suck for parents with children and away fans imo.
Actually, I think I would go to more games if all of them were 20:30 rather than 15:30.
Also having clubs from small cities in a league is no problem. Primera Division, EPL and Serie A all have small teams, too.
What is the difference between having Paderborn and Norwich in a league? Nothing. Paderborn even has more people.
Or Eibar...the whole people of Eibar wouldn't even fill all seats in Mainz 05 stadium.

Didn't expect him to watch any games tbh.

But the problem is in Germany you have 8-9 teams of Norwich size.
I hate RB Leipzig but maybe it's good for the league we'll have a villain club up.
Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Toni Kroos, Pep Guardiola, Ernst Happel, Joachim Löw.

Me too, simply because traffic in Hamburg is so incredibly annoying that you have to get up early in the morning to be there at 3:30. I haven't attended an afternoon game in years

In EPL theres a lot of small cities, too. The only difference is that EPL is more popular world-wide and thus can create much more money from tv deals.

2015-16 German Bundesliga Discussion Thread
How does it feel that you support a team, tickets are cheap, stadium is close by and a fan doesnt go to a game? Really i never get this logic. There is no better activity to do than attending a sports event especially a team you support.
When I was living in Istanbul, i literally never missed a game unless something emergency happened. I was too crazy to get on a bus and have 10+ hours away games as well. For example in 06-07 07-08 season i did not miss a single Galatasaray match in the league competition including away games.
I live in the US right now. I still make one or two games in champions league, final games in Turkish league etc etc. Galatasaray is the only reason why I am thinking to move back to Istanbul and soccer is the only reason Why i would consider moving to England or another European country like Italy or Spain.
So i never get the idea of supporting a team and never attend to the games while you have all the possibilities. Why do you support it then?

I'd love to go to more Hertha games but sadly the stadium isn't 'close by' at all.

It was disgraceful how many empty seats there were against Augsburg. 3rd place, first game of the year and they they are not even close to filling their stadium.

There's always a better activity than to watch games.
For me personally playing 5 on 5 in a cage. There's no better activity than that. Wednesday is the next time I play...we'll put LED spotlights at a local cage here and go from 6:30 pm to 0 am.
I'm not big on 11 vs. 11 anymore, though. I'm very injury prone and last three clubs I have been at annoyed the hell out of me.
The worst was one coach who would start training sessions at 8 pm and end by 9 pm.
A month into the season I told him he should either at least make 2h training sessions or stay on his couch. He didnt like that and banned me from starting XI lol.
I guess watching a game whether in stadium or on tv just doesnt give me the same feelings as actually playing myself.

Lol. Since we rejected the real one, you have no chance. But maybe Mainzer 05 as you guys would be welcoming Flamini with open arms lol

The stadium is too big, and it's Hertha.
EDIT:
Oliver Torres to BVB will be a great move. Great fit in Ilkay's spot if he should leave; plus he can push Shinji for PT at the 10. After that they just need to get Malli to back up Miki, and Yarmolenko to rotate with Auba & Reus; then they'll be all stacked up for next season's return to the CL.

I am.
Yeah, it's pretty bad. We could really use a smaller, better stadium. But that's not going to happen.

I dont think Hertha needs a smaller stadium.
They need a new stadium for sure...but just imagine they build a 40-50k arena now and somehow manage to establish among the top 3-4 of the table...eventually you might have a Bayern Munich like situation where your newly constructed stadium is too small.

We are far away from establishing ourselves as a top team, like really really far away. I think it'd be better to build a stadium that might be too small if we somehow manage to become one than having a stadium that's just too big if we don't... because that's much more likely.
But then again, a new stadium is completely unrealistic at this point.

Hertha has no cash to build a stadium anyway, right? So lets leave it at that.
They shoud try to build a really modern 60k arena with room to expand to 80k, though. I bet it would attract a lot more people than current Olympiastadion even if Hertha don't play for the top 4 spots.
