Joey Barton can play.

It's not saying much, but this is probably the best game of the day

That bicycle kick was pretty close.

No one saw that coming.

Yup, didn't need to see him warming up for 10 minutes, but that's the star power he brings.

Nice to see him at least get involved and make a couple of crisp passes. Even started the run for the final goal.

I think they'll get Sagna from Arsenal sometime in the future, maybe even on a free next summer.

There will probably be better options next season, unless Sagna is good again next season. Need one this season because it's the one real weakness in the entire team. Lucas defends better than Van der Wiel and Jallet.

Should target Adriano from Barca since they already got Jordi Alba and could use the cash to get a proper CB to replace Puyol since he's getting old

Don't need a left back. Maxwell was great last year, and just bought Digne from Lille. Not sure why we would pay Puyol. Already have Silva, Sakho, and Marquinos, yet Alex still finds a way into the first team.

no i meant Barca could use the cash to replace Puyol and get a cb next to Pique. Another good target for PSG is Santon from Inter/New Castle

Today is Falcao's, Moutinho's, and Rodriguez' debutr for Monaco. Let's see how they look. I think they are already like 3 or 6 points behind due to some punishment. I hope they make the CL next season.

I see them making a EL spot.

PSG and Monaco really shouldn't be able to comply with the the FFP (although they most likely will somehow). So I hope they don't.

IDK Foye, Falcao led an arguably less talented Atletico team to a CL spot in a much more competitive league. I know France has less spots, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get that 2nd place and get in it.

5Dom, I read somewhere that FFP didn't apply to Monaco this year since they just came from the 2nd division. I think FFP rules will apply to them from any signings from this point on.

The transfer fees are supposed to get amortized over the length of the player's contract. Unless all transfer fees and future wages for players signed this summer are exempt, Monaco have no way of complying with the FFP with a 18000-seater stadium and small TV deal.

I am sure they will find some shady sponsor deal to comply. I understand why you guys don't want to see them in the CL, but I am bias and I want to see them do well.

Monaco won 2-0. Hopefully they keep winning. The scoring race should be fun with all Cavanni, Ibra, and Falcao in this league.

they really field ibra and cavani together now, i actually don't think that will work that well, maybe in ligue 1, but not against good CL teams. both are real strikers and a 4-4-2 doesn't fly anymore against elite competition.

anyways, funny stats from todays game:

paris
37 shots
15 on goal

ajaccio
1 shot
1 on goal

FT 1:1
Wake up, girl. I wanna go surfing.

They have plenty of new players and it's their first season together. i don't see them making a CL spot but maybe I'm overrating the competition in France since I don't watch that many Ligue 1 games. That Lille team last year in the CL was absolutely horrible after losing Hazard.

I would rate PSG, Marseille and Lyon over them, though. Marseille and Lyon play longer together as a group and injured players are easier to replace since they don't rely as much on individual class as Monaco. One or two longer injuries of key players and Monaco might go through a rough stretch.
