Hell of a 2nd half, was getting worried after that yawner in the 1st, but the Swiss fans really got into it.

Hell of a run by Sverkos as he fooled the defense and stayed onside, very unlucky for the Swiss however who couldn't have done much better on defense. Tough finish for the Czech youngster too as the reason he shot the ball with his ankle (basically) was because he took a foot to his knee. Swiss keeper could've done better on his weak save attempt but he probably got fooled.

The Swiss were very unlucky to at least not come up with a point because of some of their 2nd half chances, and also they got robbed of a penalty (it should be automatic if the defender raises his hand above his head and the ball touches him). That 2nd one late was not a handball because his hand was with his body.

BTW, the Czechs officially had just one shot on goal, so not bad for 100%. They got completely outworked by the Swiss, but all it takes is for the ball to bounce your way.

I actually see a 2-1 Turkey win as Portugal is EXTREMELY overrated, and I love the fact that ESPN is sucking that p*ssy off. Julie Foudy needs to get in line because Andy Gray and Tommy Smyth beat her to that p*ssy.

Portugal has squandered so many chances and I bet the 2nd half will be all Turkey.
0-0, very entertaining 1st half.

That brilliant Volkan tip save off the post on the Ronaldo free kick may end up winning this match.

we played as bad as our jerseys in the first half. portugal is obviously individually more talented team but we showed no composure, teamwork and sense of urgency up front and sloppy play in the midfield. this game would ve been over if portugal had a pure finisher.

At least we have the best fans in the tournament. They were amazing.

That Pepe goal was brilliant, redemption from that offside. 76th minute, Turks out of subs, not over yet.

yeah, bad luck from the defense on that goal, but pepe earned it.

and i think that ronaldo will have as much success (individually) as ronaldinho had in the 2006 world cup.

well, that was plain embarrassing. We didnt even belong to the same field up until last 10 minutes-when it was too late. all the blame is on the coach Terim, he made countless mistakes starting from lineup to dictating game flow. I am glad luck and GK saved us from a more embarrassing result.

Ronaldo had only a decent game and was still aguably the most influential offensive player on either side, had his feet in basically every chance by Portugal.
Him being captain after Gomes is a pretty strong statement by Mourinho, the reaction after the 2:0 when they all including the goal scorer and assist guy Moutinho rushed to him speaks volume about his popularity in the squad. He isn
