Couple more bits on Kaka / Man City.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 827696.stm
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A45955795

I dont see this happening in the least.

Kaka wont want to ruin his career, spending the next year and a half at least not playing European football on a club that is closer to relegation than the top half of the premiership.

People fell over themselves at the start of the season to tell us how City would be a powerhouse and to watch out this year ... until they realised City had only bought one player on a pretty poor team as it was.

QPR have one of the richest owners in club football, they could quite easily make these claims to putting in bids for top end players, doesnt mean its going to happen.

Thats some crazy amount of money and they're offering him 500k british pounds per week! Thats reason enough to screw loyalty and go to City but Kaka needs to understand that with all that money come inflated expectations and heavy scrutiny at every step.

The whole ordeal seems a little flimsy to me, atleast since Kia Joorbachian, the satan himself is involved. Kaka seems to indicated his desire to stay on at Milan but his father is scheduled to talk to City representatives. It all comes down to Kaka though, Milan can basically rebuild their entire team with that money.

I hope Kaka stays...for the sake of world football...
Transfers like that will ruin football..

Even Chelsea were not that bad!

they re-upped the offer to 155 million euros and possibly going up to 200 mil. at this point i wouldn't mind letting him go especially with gourcuff performing so well on loan. money could be used for youth movement this summer.

Milan would be stupid not to take the money.
Apparently, Milan accepted the 130mil pounds bid.
Only Kaka's decision left

This seems like a done deal. Milan are more or less looking to restructure their squad than try and hang on to Kaka.

Yeah, looks like a done deal. I watched the Milan game and at the end, he hugged every player (looks like he was saying goodbye) and he looked like he had watery eyes.

Well.. looks like Kaka rejected the move to City. I'm proud of a player like him because the money at stake was no ordinary amount considering he had a 4 fold increase in his weekly wages alone if he considered the move. But its great to see a footballer of his stature put glory before money.

Well done Kaka!

Having said that, if Milan underachieve this season, there'll be a host of other big clubs knocking on Milan's door and many of them might appeal to Kaka too.

I was pretty sure it'd fall through. It was a blackhole for Kaka - at least another year and a half without European football - and even with 2 "superstar" players it wouldnt be enough to compete in the rest of the season.

Money vs actually playing good level football, Europe, and a chance to win trophies?

Come on now.. I can understand kaka but 70 mil Euros for David Villa? Thats grossly overpaying and inflating the transfer market. Reminds me so much of the way West Ham started overpaying players which ultimately created factions in the side and lead to under performance from most players. They were atleast lucky to have one Carlos Tevez to thank for avoiding relegation.

70 mil Euros for David Villa >>>> what United payed for Hargreaves + Nani + Anderson + Berbatov + Tevez
