we weren't the inferior team to dortmund at home. We were the inferior team tonight for sure and at dortmund for long stretches but after the ramsey goal we did have a good spell and a couple more chances to end the game.

but I dont like our chances in the second round as well.

Yes you were. You did quit well after the goal you scored to snag your win, as Dortmund totally fell apart, but in the first won dortmund thoroughly out played you for their win.

we did quite well indeed , weidenfeller had a pretty nice save on a ramsey shot , someone in yellow made a goal line clearance, weidenfeller absolutely took out koscielny in the box, and had some other chances as well after the ramsey header goal.

We got throughly out played in the first game? lol 57% possesion to arsenal and 43% to bvb , 9 shots for arsenal and 8 for dortmund. 2 Shots on target for arsenal and 3 for dortmund , and 2 corners for both teams. Arsenal were poor in the first half but bvb created nothing other than that goal and the second half for long stretches was arsenal possesion and attack. Arsenal we're unlucky to even lose that game. I'd say it was even with us being better slightly. Rosicky had a shot cleared off the line by a defender and cazorla hit the woodwork once. What game were you watching that dortmund thoroughly out played??

He's actually been the player that had the most kind words to say of the crop that left our club this summer. He's always sending supportive messages to Cristiano and some of the other squad members. Higuain (comparatively) seems to hate us these days

I'd love a match up with Arsenal. They're the type of team we'd usually struggle against in the recent era; not a single striker for the defense to hone on so a more collective defensive effort would be required which is usually where someone *cough Pepe and Ramos *cough gets caught out of position.

Conversely, we tend to play really well against the better sides. Only top seed I wouldn't like our chances against right now is Bayern. With Ronaldo and Bale playing the way they are I don't think anyone fancies a go against us early on either.

Arsenal weren't outplayed by Dortmund in the first game at all, don't know what you were watching.

We lost because we pushed too hard for the win when we should have settled for a draw and were caught on the counter by Lewandowski who should have already been sent off anyway.

Arsenal won the possession battle against BVB in the first leg, but that was the most un-kloppian dortmund performance I've ever seen because they sat deep, they didn't press aggressively and they were content just to counter when the chances came to them. And it was very effective, arsenal created almost nothing and despite losing the possession battle dortmund where the more dangerous side and created more chances. That's why I say they thoroughly out played Arsenal, they came in with their european tactics and executed them to near perfection despite having an injured and exhausted squad.

Basically German teams always come in with different initiatives and never really lose or are outplayed.

Dormund created nothing either, it was pretty even.

It was a tough group. Three teams all on 12 points decided by goal difference and away goals. Arsenal beat and lost to Dortmund, they beat and lost to Napoli. Dortmund beat and lost to Napoli, and beat and lost to Arsenal. It was even all around essentially.

If anything it should be underwhelming from Dortmund since you seemed to think they'd crush Arsenal and they'd dominate the EPL. Yet they only qualified cause an injury time Mandana cock-up allowed them to squeeze by 10-man Marseille.

Ok when we sit back invite pressure and counter it's us getting out played (second game) but when Dortmund does it it's outplaying us? We had an injured side that game as well albeit not as bad as bvb's

Arsenal was the better team in London. Dortmund got lucky that Arsenal was risking too much to pick up the win.

You weren't outplayed in the second leg, they were outplaying you for a while because there was danger behind their possession that you didn't match in the first leg, but you clearly outplayed them on the whole after they fell apart.

how are those even calculated, i thought you have the same chance of picking up a team from other seed as long as it is not from your country?

They are affected by which teams other teams in your pot cannot draw.
