You'd think that we'd have a little $$ to spend, after last season. I hope we didn't just blow it all on 1 player. Feels like we aughta have a little more in the bank.

We've got several good players walking away this offseason. It's a shame we're not getting anything for them. Sucks to see Mane go, but it doubly hurts to see him just walk for nothing.

I'm glad we figured it all out with Salah, but I'm still sorta hoping that R-Madrid or Barca or whoever come in with one of those stupid $120+ mil offers. Of course, we've lost alot of attacking this offseason. So perhaps better to wait till next season. I suppose the chances of a crazy offer drop drastically with every passing year. He's no spring chicken now, either.

Núñez cost LFC £64M. Sales of Mane (£28M), Williams (£16M), Minamino (£13M) and Davies (£3M) along with sell-on fee of Awoniyi covers approximately £60M. Note I left off add-ons.

The only other incomings were Carvalho (£5M) and Ramsay (£4m) making net spend near £13M.

There should be enough for a midfielder, however, it appears Liverpool is targeting Bellingham next year. I agree with you, however. I'm not confident in depending on Carvalho and Elliott, both teenagers. Keita (27 years old), Fabinho (28), Tiago (31), and Henderson (32) are aging or tend to pick up injuries. A 22-24 year old player would help bridge the gap.

Additionally, where does the Diaz transfer amount fall under?

Did we get $28m for Mane? I did not know that. That takes the sting off a bit, if true. I really like Mane. Most disagree, but I woulda kept him over Salah. I think he's more of a team player. Dunno....Salah has been unreal. I suppose its a great "consolation prize". I'm hoping Nunez works out. Quite a price tag.

Well if your numbers are true (or at least close)....then we're pretty much a clean slate this offseason. So what the hell? Don't we get nearly $100mil just for making it to the CL final? Winning the FA has to do SOMETHING, I'd hope. We've had a pretty good run the last 3-4 years. You'd think the merchandise would be flying. I think going out and spending (not recklessly...but we can shell out) for a defender, and a midfielder is not too much of an ask. I dig Milner...but holy hell, the guy is way too old to be one of our main bench guys....if not actually starting. We're too thin. One injury to our defense, and who do we have? I suppose we could prob make it through a season with ONE injury at midfield.....but these margins are way too thin.

Holy sh** your totally right. In fact, it's even better! I found this on espn:

""fee with the Bundesliga champions in a total package worth €41 million ($42.9m).
The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss details of the deal, which has not yet been completed.
Liverpool will receive €32m ($33.5m) up front for Mane, with a further €6m ($6.3m) due when he meets a specified appearance clause and an additional €3m ($3.15m) based on individual and team achievements.""

Alright...well that certainly feels better.

When you are a team like Liverpool the bottom line is not the money you pay and receive, it's the quality. If they have downgraded from Mané then it's bad, if they've upgraded it's good.

Your correct.

But it takes the 'salt out of the wound' knowing he didn't leave for zilch, which is what I thought had happened.

Nunez/Diaz has to reach Salah level to not be a downgrade in quality from Mane. Diaz was good from the bench, awesome dribbler but he needs better finishing, more assist to be even worth comparison with Mane. Jota is more likely to be world class like Mane.

Núñez scored four times in Liverpool's 5-0 win over RB Leipzig.

Alright, so who's left the club? Who's been added? I'm aware of the Nunez signing. Any other significant signings?

Sad to see Sadio & Bobby both leave.

Firmino has not left the club. He started yesterday's Community Shield match against Manchester City.

I saw that. I just assumed that he was on his way out with all the rumors.

I would never let Firmino go if I was Liverpool or their fans, he is still great technically, link play, smart runner, aggressive defensively. Most importantly he doesn't complain if he is benched. Diaz hasn't shown he can replace Mane yet, Jota has troubles with injury. You will not find his replacement cheaply, Liverpool needs deep bench to win PL.

Embarrassing from Liverpool.

I have been calling for a new midfielder. Supposedly 8 deep in the position, the club would not sanction such a move. Keep in mind at least 4 (Henderson, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Thiago) are injury prone. And Milner should not be called upon as a regular starter.

With the transfer period closing today, LFC resort to a loan. It appears the club has not learned its lesson from the CB crisis a few years ago.

If that's the case then it could be an absolute game changer.

I thought the Boston sports group was loaded.

Isn't Lebron James a part-owner of LFC?

Oh but then some of these people probably gave Mookie Betts away to the Dodgers because they didn't want to pay him.

I mean in relative terms, yes. FSG are worth billions. But...Newcastle are state funded by the Saudi's. While Sheikh Mansour keeps pumping money into City. It's nowhere close to being an equal playing field. Let's be honest.

As far as other American owners, Kroenke is worth considerably more than Henry. The new Chelsea owner is loaded as well.

Lebron is a minority shareholder.

The Los Angeles Lakers forward bought 2% of Liverpool with his business partner Maverick Carter for $6.5M (4.7 million pounds) in April 2011.
