No, it's a semi-final. Whichever club wins faces either PSG or Real Madrid in the final.

Thanks that’s what I meant.

I’ll be rooting for Fluminense all the way

I caught some of the Italy - Belgium match here in Italy.

Group D appears toughest, but I’m pretty out of the loop

I watched the France England match, will watch more if I can, fun match.

One thing that was pretty funny to me is the ethnic contrast of those teams, France women is like the men's team with lots of Arab, Berber and African names, the England players were all blond. Makes me think there's some funding discrepencies or something that means they're not drawing from as wide a pool.

A little whinge from me regarding this hoax of a club tournament.

The money involved is corruption at it's finest. Not only was the tournament invite only, there was also not qualification requirements, just hand chosen by UEFA.

Now Chelsea (just an example) have a minimum of 80 mil added to their "earnings" for PSR/SCR calculations. Unlike other competitions, where you earn your place, this money has just been given to clubs hand chosen by UEFA. So a complete disadvantage for clubs not invited.

Absolute disgrace IMO and more than anything, it's a time when players should be resting and recovering from the season they've just played and the one coming up. But now you have a star player like Musiala suffering a huge injury and out for a long period.

Money speaks and that's all UEFA care about

Chelsea made $80 million just for making the finals?

I heard the attendance hasn't been that great.

It is competition to make Chelsea, City, Real, PSG richer. FIFA boss and Perez,PSG owner is behind the comp.

It is very symbolic for the corruption, unfair competition that Fluminese lost to two goals by a young Brazilian player who use to play for them that Chelsea bought after the group stage.

Yes..couldn't believe Pedro was allowed to play for Chelsea in this comp after only signing last week. That just confirms how made up the rules were for this "tournament".

In defense of Chelsea, they weren't allowed to play Gittens, because he had already participated in the "tournament" for Dortmund. It is odd, though, that they have brought "cup-tied" back, whereas, it's been removed in CL.

Did UEFA or FIFA even made money out of this? Seems like nobody's been watching it, I bet they made a huge loss on it.

The real money is the tv license, American audiences seeing the games live at the games isn't the way they got rich. Like PL, NBA are billions worth because of TV money ala Amazon,TNT, Skye or the local ones like my Swedish streaming giants.

Fools like me paid the subscription fee to watch all the games live on DAZN. My love for the game that enjoyed watching the fans of Brazilian teams, Asian teams or African teams was used against us. 5 000 or 55 000 live at NYC, not even FIFA stupid enough to count those few millions.

US would have paid a fortune to host the tournament and the TV/streaming rights would have been worth it alone. It was back with Saudi money as well wasn't it?

Did the clubs play their best lineups or just the usual summer lineups with more younger players and backups?

Pretty much nobody around me has followed the games so I thought ratings would be bad and they would regret paying, but apparently ratings in US and S.America has been good. Just most european dgaf.

Shame, Chelsea players posed with Trump after winning this fake cup.

Trump said he may issue an executive order so Americans refer to the sport as “football” rather than “soccer.”

There are like a couple of countries in Africa and Asia that have more than 700 million people in Europe. We who follow PL or CL might joke about Saudi money, Salzburg, Miami among the best in the world Cup but fans of Wydad City, Flamengo, Korean, Japanese teams this is a global party.
Thats the ideal for this competition for those fans but we are not naive, we know this competition was a hit for all the big teams like Chelsea made even more money than winning some Cup that is new FIFA toy.

I will remember all those global teams, their fan making random American city, stadiums into a festival. :)

Number of people is not really that important, where those people coming from is more important to advertisers. 20-30million people watching in America or Europe is probably more valuable to advertisers than entire continent of africa.

FIFA made more than TV money with DAZN only because as they said they sold rights to games globally. Sure Europe is the most important market but that's only because those teams have billions of fans outside the West.

Almost all their revenue is from the fact DAZN is the biggest sport streaming giant in the world with 200 countries as viewers. This is the era of Netflix making billions on their fans in Asia, Africa. Let's not confuse the cultural power of US, UK sports media talking about popularity of the sport in US. The awesome Latino fans going crazy about football the games of CWC in US TV channels ratings isn't the reason DAZN paid FIFA a billion. Thats a drop in the ocean income wise. DAZN isn't HBO exactly.
