starting lineup for USA
Rimando;
DeLaGarza, Parkhurst, Cameron, Loyd
Zusi, Clark, Jones (capt.), Shea
Wondolowski, Bunbury

traditional 4-4-2
panama pressured right away
defense had some bad touches, early, Loyd in particular
but it was Loyds cross to the 6 yard line that let Zusi score in the 8th minute
and he had some nice crosses in the box

i dont like delagarza, i dont know how he keeps getting to start, or even play
too slow, to indecisive, and to WEAK
i dont like jones and clark together in the Midfield

i liked our headers, and winning the 50/50s

im DONE with Bunbury

great strike from Jones and nice follow header by Wondolowski
but the keeper barely saved both

-then it was half time, and i fell asleep (i was watching the replay at 1am, thanks to espn3)
2nd half thoughts to b posted after i watch it tonight

seems like JK got some good concacaf experience with that trip to panama. the mandatory away red card should give him an idea of what to expect.

US to face rivals Canada in Toronto friendly on June 3

It’s always nice when your neighbors invite you over for a party, which is exactly why the United States national team will head north of the border on June 3 for the first time since 1997 to take on Canada at BMO Field in Toronto as part of that nation's Centenary celebrations.

The match, which will be televised live in the US on NBC Sports Network at 7 pm ET, will also serve as the final tune-up for both squads ahead of the third round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.

“First of all, we are honored to be chosen to be part of Canada's Centenary celebration,” US head coach Jurgen Klinsmann said in a statement. “This is exactly the type of challenge we are looking for as we grow the team and get ready for the start of World Cup qualifying. There is a great history in the rivalry, and Canada is a team we could see in the final round of qualifying. It's a win-win for everybody.”

yea, BUT
look at their competition
other than Mexico
USA should b in every World Cup

i was hoping for the USA to advance
or improve upon their World Cup experiences
but i have lost all confidence in that happening

we dont know what formation or starting lineup wer going to use
and the first game is 3.5 months

U-23 camp was announced. 10 day camp followed by friendly with mexico on 2-29. we are getting a little closer to seeing what could be the base olympic team (if we qualifiy). who else would you guys like to see added to this team between now and the time the games start to really mean something? assuming we qualify for the olympics, would we add guys like chandler and jozy or would we likely keep those guys with the senior team? danny williams? lichaj (or is he too old now)?

Here is the full roster:

Goalkeepers: Bill Hamid, Sean Johnson
Defenders: Greg Garza, Perry Kitchen, Alfredo Morales, Ike Opara, Kofi Sarkodie, Zarek Valentin, Jorge Villafana
Midfielders: Joe Corona, Mix Diskerud, Dilly Duka, Jared Jeffrey, Amobi Okugo, Michael Stephens
Forwards: Freddy Adu, Juan Agudelo, Terrence Boyd, Teal Bunbury, Joe Gyau, Jack McInerneny, Brek Shea, Tony Taylor

Hamid seems to b our keeper of the future
Morales has been talked about for a few months, people wanted to see him with the senior team

im VERY SURPRISED that Brek Shea is on this team
will this affect his playing time or participation with the main USA team ?
same with Agudelo
Brek Shea will have his chance to make a huge name for himself
i expect him to score in every game hes in
and be a part of or assist in other goals
--is that expecting too much ? --

nice to see Freddy Adu
he should make a huge impact
hes played all over now and has had an impact with the USA main team when he played last

Jesus!

How old is Adu? From what I remember, he has been in every youth competition available for the US for the last several years. It seems like he never ages!

roster announced for Italy friendly
http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_i ... endly.html

Goalkeepers: Tim Howard (Everton), Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

Defenders: Carlos Bocanegra (Rangers), Geoff Cameron (Houston Dynamo), Timmy Chandler (Nurnberg), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Clarence Goodson (Brondby), Michael Parkhurst (FC Nordsjaelland), Jonathan Spector (Birmingham City)

Midfielders: Michael Bradley (Chievo Verona), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Fabian Johnson (Hoffenheim), Jermaine Jones (Schalke 04), Jose Torres (Pachuca), Danny Williams (Hoffenheim)

Forwards: Jozy Altidore (AZ Alkmaar), Terrence Boyd (Borussia Dortmund), Edson Buddle (LA Galaxy), Clint Dempsey (Fulham), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy)

what i would like to see

---------------------------howard-------------------------
dolo------goodson--------------boca-------chandler
-------------bradley----------jones---------------------
donovan----------torres-----------------dempsey--
-------------------jozy-------------------------------------

or only 1 dmid, which gives dempsey a lot more room to roam around behind jozy or next to him and do whatever the hell he wants. thats his best role, imo.
---------------------------howard-------------------------
dolo------goodson--------------boca-------chandler
----------------------bradley-------------------------------
donovan----------------torres----------------johnson
-------------------------dempsey------------------------
---------------------jozy---------------------------------

but if only 1 dmid plays, then why bring 4?
